We have no sighting of eggs 2 or 3, but with this cold weather they don't get off of them very often. Also they have built up higher around the cavity, making a sighting even more difficult.

I emailed Rob Bierregaard to ask:

" Do you know if the very cold weather in Florida will hurt the Dunedin Fla. nest? They had their first egg Dec. 30."

His reply:

"Shouldn't be a problem for them."

I would imagine Osprey eggs are similar to eagle eggs - and eagles lay their eggs when it's cold and snowing - so hopefully they'll be OK.... even though warmer weather would be nice!!

It has been very cold here for some time and will be into the future. The Osprey couple seem to be doing okay.
This is a picture of them this morning. They were turning the eggs and switching places. Hope the egg(s) are okay too.
It is going to be hard to document if they do in fact have eggs #2 and 3.
If anybody sees or takes a picture of more than one egg, please let us know

them in the exchanges...

I think mom's on the nest...(so it must have been dad sitting for a while--who knows, maybe I have it backwards)...anyway...something had her really agitated and on high alert...
