HARRISBURG ~ MAY 2015 PART I

Had the cam on a bit ago, and lost the connection. It's back on, but for some reason is showing things from yesterday. It does look like the view has been pulled back a bit looking at the pictures from ljames. And before I lost the connection the chicks were sacked out over at the orange post. After today it's to be much less humid. :-)

Ok well I can see one chick by the stick next to the bldg. and one next to the orange post on the stills, so don't know what's going on.

Edit:

Think that might be two by the post, so nobody is missing and nobody is out there trying to get them.

Video is back on. Banding Day is tomorrow, May 21 starting at 1:00 Eastern time. And if it's like previous years, they will have to switch from live video to video inside the building. Lil Dad has just arrived with some food.

FOOD BEING SERVED IN FRONT OF THE SCRAPE. TWO AT ORANGE POLE STANDING THERE SCREAMING......WELL ONE WENT DOWN THE LEDGE TO JOIN FOR LUNCH. THIRD ONE DOESN'T SEEM INTERESTED.

YES, I GOT THE CAM FIXED, I DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS DOWN, WAS AT LUNCH.

That may have been Niecey doing the feeding. Not used to the pulled out view, which is wonderful. Can see the roof of the U Building again.

Niecey was on the point a bit ago, but took off. One chick was over near enough to the point to be seen on that cam view. When the cam switched to the view showing the scrape, Niecey could be seen flying past 333. View changed at exactly the right time to show her land with a very small prey object. One chick is working on it now in front of the windows while the other two watch. I think it's Niecey on the stick at the moment. Still not used to the new views and judging size.

That must have been Lil Dad on the stick all that time. He just came over behind the orange post and was feeding some leftovers to white foot and the larger yellow foot. He looks so much smaller than those two, and I really think they are both females. I've heard that male falcons can be intimidated by their female offspring.

Niecey was just behind the orange post making a more substantial feeding. Lil Dad was watching from the point, while white foot was sprawled in front of him. Niecey finished the feeding and promptly chased Lil Dad off the point, so he relocated to the stick.

TUNED IN THIS MORNING. ONE LOOKED TO BE EATING SOMETHING DOWN A LITTLE PASSED THE ORANGE POLE, ONE HAD A BIRD AND CARRIED IT UP TOWARDS THE SCRAPE WHERE NUMBER 3 WAS AND APPEARED TO BE EATING SOMETHING, BUT I THINK IT WAS JUST SCRAPS. BOY, WHEN THEY EAT THEMSELVES, THEY EAT EVERYTHING. MADE ME LAUGHT LAST NIGHT IN THAT ONE VIDEO, WHEN THE KID FINISHES THE MEAL, SHE TURNS THE ENTIRE WAY AROUND IN A CIRCLE MAKING SURE SHE DIDN'T MISS ANYTHING, LOL!

EDIT: ONE OF THE KIDS IS REALLY PUTTING ON A SHOW IN FRONT OF THE SCRAPE, SO CUTE! I REALLY THINK THESE KIDS ARE GROWING UP FASTER THAN PREVIOUS YEARS.........I DON'T REMEMBER THEM EATING AN ENTIRE BIRD BY THEMSELVES WITH ALL THAT DOWNY ON THEM STILL..........

NOT SURE WHAT THAT WAS ALL ABOUT, BUT I FORGOT TO MENTION, LIL DAD WAS ON THE STICK THE ENTIRE TIME THE KIDS WERE EATING AND PLAYING. ALL THE SUDDEN HE WENT TO THE SCRAPE SHIELD. THEN YOU SEE NIECEY ON THE POINT SCREAMING. WELL I GUESS HE WAS JUST GIVING HER THE THRONE, I MEAN STICK, LOL!

LIL DAD MADE THE MISTAKE OF JUMPING DOWN INTO THE SCRAPE TO FIND A SCRAP FOR THEM. ALL 3 CAME RUNNING AND HE NARROWLY ESCAPED OUT THE BACK DOOR! LIL DAD BACK ON THE STICK :-)

NIECEY JUST BROUGHT FOOD IN AND IS MAKING SURE SHE GETS TO FEED THEM. TWO THERE EATING, ONE AT THE BACK DOOR LOOKING THROUGH THE SCRAPE AT THEM.

THIRD KID FINALLY JOINED IN AS LIL DAD WATCHES FROM THE STICK.

I too don't remember the young being so aggressive and able to fend for themselves the way these three do. They really don't need help except the hunting. So good to see them like this! Aren't they comical at this stage? You could put words to their actions for a comic book.

Caught the very end of that feeding. One chick is now sacked out in front of the scrape while the other two are sacked near the column. Lil Dad on guard on the stick. It is MUCH cooler here today with a pretty stiff northwest wind.
