I'm with you, trust me. If it was me, I'd grab the eggs and run...lol..but they work with DNR so no likely to break any laws or they wouldn't be able to help again.

Yep..does take a permit to get the eggs...they probably didn't have safety gear with them either...I'll go get Barb from Baltimore...she has no problem dragging her kids wherever she wants them...LOL

Because most of them abandoned after SW left. It's been a ghost town there. I suspect, okay I know for a fact some people resent 'Newton because they think she killed SW' - I saw a few posts at other sites over it. So glad the baby is OK..have been following the posts on here tonight. Just wanted to say that in Rochester, when Mariah was taken down by Beauty and after she returned to Rochester from rehab, was driven out again, we lost a LOT of Forum members. They resented Beauty for what she did, couldn't accept that this is nature's way and, 6 yrs later, many still talk that they wish Mariah was still there. Beauty is always being compared to Mariah, who fledged 43 babies from Kodak..she doesn't produce like Mariah, etc. I loved Mariah but I've come to love and respect Beauty who has overcome many obstacles in her life in Rochester.

It is hard at first, but if they really loved the birds you'd think they'd get over it. It was hard when Harrisburg Mom disappeared & another falcon (NG) took her place, but we grew to love her too. Then NG was seriously injured & disappeared & another took her place. They all have things about them to love & as you said, its nature's way.

Totally agree with you Catwoman - that is for sure is natures way......... wildlife is wired to survive!

I don't think it's fair to compare Beauty to Mariah, it was a different time. Beauty had a rough start but talons crossed, she's still young and has lots of time left with us I hope and lots more kids to come and I have to say quite honestly, she's turned into one of the best falcon moms I watch on cam :girlyes:

She is a great mom..just a lousy housekeeper! :eggroll:

I have a hard time with it , when some do not want to accept a new falocn. We lost our super dad at U of A but no w we can love another. they are all so different, and great in their own way

miss E did to come back,but I would never expect Green to replace her. Green will come into her own.
I love them all. I have had my favorites but that is just because I did not meet the others yet :egg17:

I watched Demortel th e year of 2OR because people resented her. what is up with that?? S2 was in rehab and so free reign. and even if not, that is the life of a peregrine . I loved 2OR and her funny croak and funny ways.

So I will try and watch this site more. just so taxed . I thought they had a big following

I remember years back in Maine. The chick fell out of box and was at back. It could not get back in . after several tries and a lon g time later the parent picked it up by the neck and got it in box. It was a huge chick also

Well, since I'm not the only one who was thinking that, I'll post the capture I got. It looks like it could be a white egg but is sticking up, so possibly baby's head? :egg16:

I wasn't going to post it until I saw what was happening in the morning, but here goes:

C&C posted on the Cleveland forum that they hadn't realized that the chick hadn't eaten lately. They said that its possible that it was fed during one of Newt's trips to the crevice to see him. They're going to try to rescue him again tomorrow afternoon after work, but are asking people to post if they see him eat or if they see him period.

I hope that's the chick in your pic, CW, but I'm not holding my breath. I went back through archives, as I'm sure many of you did, and only found these two "different" pics..You'll see the time stamp at the top..

Currently Newton is in the tray..

I just finished reading C & C's posts on the CMNH forum. If this has happened before (per Scott) why didn't they fix it!!

I'm not gonna be much help on Saturday...heading to my nephew's graduation..

Sadly, I made the same assumption. This is why I try to check as many sites as I can every day, just to get head counts...not that I could do anything at many of them...but, some of them I can. I even checked this nest this morning (before all this started)...I think I am mad at the Cleveland people!! LOL
