I am so, so sorry...this just isn't right.....Here's what I don't get. Why turn off the cams? Why can't we watch until they take the kids? (I know...rhetorical question) Is it because they have to dismantle the system? Here's the other thing...I am sure they just didn't dream up this plan over night..If they knew this was gonna be the plan why not announce ahead of time so that it wouldn't be a shock to viewers..I don't think removing the box would have stopped Dixie and Yankee from laying in that area. Not only do I feel bad for all of you Buffalo-ites, and us, but poor Dixie and Yankee..so unfair to them..

In terms of taking the chicks after 2 weeks...I really hate that...but, and I don't want to say I'm used to it, but when we watched James River Bridge (VA), that's what they did every year at banding...It was always such a bitter sweet time, but it was for their safety...otherwise fledging off that bridge almost always resulted in deaths..

I know it won't change anything, but who can we write about this?

This just stinks big time.... :tissue:

Matrix, I was confused by your statement: "All the pieces of the puzzle of past three years, makes total sense now..." What puzzle... :girlcrazy:

It does stink!

I am mad and sad and I guess that would = frustrated.

:cryinggirl: :furious: :cryinggirl:

I think I may call it a day. On the bright side my nephew came over and cleaned by computer and it's running great again. I had some infected files apparently.

I just can't get a grip on this. All other sites cam or no cam have to wait to do work, why is this place any different? I understand the James River nest it is over the water and is unsafe but this is just a friggin joke first the shi* with BB now this. :furious:

Kitten I agree.

I am going to see if I can make some noise tomorrow. I am not sure it will do any good though.

Not surprising, very stupid decisions have been made here in the past which is why I had to quit watching this nest. Very sorry for the poor falcons, AGAIN!

This doesn't mention the UB falcons, but a great story about the other Buffalo falcons on Channel 2 news this morning:

 Great video, Bird Music! The fellow they interviewed said there are 3 falcon nests in Buffalo ? I don't think I knew that. Do they have an ID for the 3rd pair? I was just thinking to myself if the media did a story about the plans for the UB Falcons ,would it cause enough uproar to at least delay the project enough to let the babies fledge?

Great video Bird Music. I missed it as I have been busy grand dog sitting this weekend. I contacted via email the radio stations about UB but haven't heard back. I really don't think we will get anywhere with this one! Anyways I will plan to take a trip over there frequently to see what I can see!

The Richardson nest is not far from me and I need to go see that one too!

Love falcons - :5val:

There are actually more than three nests around Buffalo - UB, Statler Towers, Richardson Complex, the grain silos, Grand Island Bridge, in the gorge at Niagara Falls, and maybe more I'm missing. Which is why I don't think making an uproar about UB will make a difference. Especially since they are planning on making provisions for the eyases, even though not in a way we would like.
Unfortunately, none of the other sites have on-line cameras.

I've come around to your way of thinking about UB Birdmusic! It's a shame we don't have other cams in the area. I know the Statler at one time had a cam in their lobby and you could go in and view what was going on on top of their building. That was cool.
:agree:

they obviously have no experience with falcons and construction.

Is this hacking facility well monitored. Hacking works if monitored probably

Statler used to have cam as i watched Beauty there many years ago, with Kimmarie. ( another Beauty)
