Banding is very tricky - its guesswork.
The Fargo male was named Annie when banded. We're calling him Andy - not much of a change :)
An eaglet with a transmitter was called female - turned out to be a male.

Back from downtown. Got there at 5:30 this morning. Somewhere between 7 and 7:30 there were THREE food drops. It was only dripping lightly off and on while down there, but it started coming down pretty good on the way home. The man from the Game Commission who does the banding is EXTREMELY knowledgeable, and if there's any question about a bird's gender at banding it will be given a female band. Due to their weights at banding, Blue and Red are most definitely females. And on Sunday I was one foot away from Blue when she was released on the roof. She has huge feet, so I'm certain she is a she. It is MUCH cooler here now. When I got home the thermometer in my car said 54 degrees. What a switch from the weekend. Going to get some much needed rest now before going back down there later this afternoon. Hopefully the weather will improve by then. Glad to see those three huddled together at the scrape for now.

I saw that too, but thought it was Lil Dad. Before I left down there Niecey was hovering in the air above the ledge. I have never seen a falcon do that before. It was so cool to see. And there was a quick canoodle on 333 this morning, too.

Well it seems they are calming down and maybe getting ready for another rest. Let's hope, otherwise I definitely have to turn the volume off. I think it's raining harder too. I pity the watchers.

Oh lord, they are right beside the mic now. They don't know what to do with themselves.

I think Red Girl is hungry, she must have been the one in the nest that didn't get any food last time. She's working on a really small scrap. I never catch Niecey feeding these big girls anymore. Maybe Red Girl needs some one on one.

According to the weather report on our local noon news, this rain will eventually lighten up later on, but there's a chance of showers all night. Wednesday sounds somewhat better and so does Friday, but there's a chance of showers each day. Unless there's some sort of accident, I seriously doubt if any of those girls will be leaving the ledge today, as young ones generally don't fly in the rain.

Glad to see everyone still here. I know we need rain but at least its not like they got out in Texas and other places.

Pretty sure an adult is on the camera or the wire right now. White went down there and found a few scraps to eat. She's on the point and pretty sure it's Blue down at the end of the ledge, and now back at scrape. Red in the scrape. White in front of orange post. Gee. It's still raining here lightly.

White has been quite active. From radar it looks like the tail end of this rain is over on the other side of the river, but it's going to be a while before it's done here. Leaving for the night watch in about 10 minutes.

Just got through reading all the reports from the past 2 days. Wonderful reporting. So happy to see the Girls doing so well. I thought of them last night here in the Wilmington area...the Storms went on forever it seemed. A lot of lightening and very hard rain. Thought of all our dear Falcon's in precarious places for the first time.

Following all the places you were talking about. Felt like I was there again! Wish I was!! LOL!

Checking in and see 2 girls at the point and 1 on the shield. Somebody is going to have to go up there and push Red Girl and White Girls off.
