Storm Sirens? I think I am hearing voices over loud speakers. EDIT: Maybe this is their weekly test day, ours are Friday @ noon.

So her tail feathers -- is that something she can fix with preening? I was wondering if those feathers were damaged and how that would affect her first time in the air.

Durand has really slimmed down. So Sleek! I thought it was Spark @ first, til I heard that voice!

Yep...that's his new trick..he started doing it this morning..I posted a vid on the previous page..more of a jump/flap/flap..

I hope this post feed flapping frenzy is now over so I can get back to my chores...I don't know why they do this after every meal...makes me nuts...

Storm (way down there on the box end) looks like she is just barely hanging on with her talons when she flaps...sure hope that's not true...

Both the girls were making me nervous, especially Flash! I had been wanting to leave, since the feed was over!!! :egglaugh:

Each feather is contained in a tubular protective sheath that should split open..allowing her to preen those feathers and line up the barbs...Its a mystery as to why those sheaths are still on there...Hopefully they'll come off. I have to wonder if it goes back to her curly down...I haven't noticed this on the other two. So, be on the look out to see if either Bolt or Storm has this same issue...I don't think they do..

Bolt had a nice fantail that I looked @ earlier to compare.

OK...I went back and did some research from Last year (anything to avoid yard work)..

Hatches 2 and 3 were our curly chicks...that's fact..

Now it becomes subjective...Blaze was the second bird banded, but believed to be the first hatch. If that was true, then Blaze was NOT one of the Curly chicks.

If the above is true, then Dart and Hoshi were the curly chicks...

Next, is to find Blaze in her Juvie plumage to check her tail feathers. I remember last year one of them had tail feathers just like Flash (I took lots of pics)..but I really can't remember who it was...(but I think it was Blaze..)

If anybody else wants to figure it out, they can start from the archive link posted above..

I really miss being able to post pictures from this site.First the nest cam stills didn't work,and now the still ledge cams don't work :tantrum2:

Oh well atleast I can still watch our juvies play on the ledge.If the weather is nice I plan on going downtown on saturday and check out the view from the statehouse.If anyone would like to join me that would be great :eggjump:

Sky, I think June 3, 2014 @ 0937 or something like that, you have pic with comment on tail feathers. Also, ljames posts concern of tail feathers @ some point. Both are about Blaze. Edit: Went back and Sky @ 0943. Page 11 of June part I reports. Although, you don't identify as Blaze, I think tufts of fluff on head still and looks like Blaze.

Also, I did not research this aspect, but it is registered in my head as Hoshi 1st hatch.
