(Off topic: To make a loooong story short: C2 from Woods Hole nest got knocked off the nest by sib today during rivalry during feeding. He was rescued - appeared unharmed - and is on his way to rehab! )

Barbs home! Just came in on her scurrying around nest, before taking a break in the gap! Wasn't real sure what she was doing, but giving it her "all out" effort!!! :teehee:

Hiya SWIN - yes both Boh and Barb were on cam quite awhile.
After Boh left Barb went into nest tray to poke around,
then up on bridge, peered over - and flew off

Hatchling is recovered, alive, appears unharmed and on the way to area wildlife rehab center.
Osprey now in the care of experts. Was alert but calm on arrival.
Looking good for osprey. Initial exam very positive. Wings good.

Saw both Boh and Barb today
6.15 pm I saw a bird arrive and a 2nd bird hot on its heels. #1 left too fast to know who it was.
#2 is the same juvie who has been coming to perform her feather dance for us.

8.35 am The juvies been playing upstairs when Boh arrives, looks around,
- hears juvie screaming but cant see it - flies off
juvie was below the bridge where Boh was perched so he couldnt eyeball her

Yep sky - definitely our playful feather dancer juvie back again!
At 10.30 am She is still in nest tray - half off cam

Can anyone explain what I am seeing right now ... just coming in ... looks as if juvie feathers sticking out on left ... adult on right ... in nestbox ... ok ... now I see is 1 bird ...

Hi all! Someone is in the nest box fooling around... every once in a while, I can see a feather - or two or three. Looks like a juvie (but don't count on my ID!).

(Off Topic - Posted on Woods Hole O cam site: "We are so sorry to have to let you all know that, despite everyone's efforts, the young osprey died this morning. The bird was severely emaciated, which was a strong contributing factor. We are running more tests. It is a hard fact of nature that ospreys often reject ill or weak young and there is often nothing that can be done for them at that point. Thank you all so much for caring."
Darn it... the O weighed 980 grams, should have weighed around 1500 grams I think. Lots of problems on O nests this season :girlsad3:

You can't always go by that...Barb has cream as well...depending on how the light hits her..

The juvie sometimes appears to have the slate blue-gray of the adult ... makes it confusing, especially if you are only seeing a part of the falcon ... guess the undertones have switched from red to blue here on cam ... :teehee:
