Better later than never morning report
You know that the kids are growing up on you : when they can not be found when you get there. Complete silence..... Even when one took to the air it was quiet. Then the second played tag. Only when they dethroned Radisson on the Maz that we heard them. They both got feed and Chase was not welcomed if he had no food. Little bit of kakking from Chase at the college plaza, then Radisson fly over to be with him. Kids not a peep from them. Then STARS fly in from the north. Sure was different from what I saw on Saturday. Most be the main staff up on the roof and follow the rules to stay tight to the wall.
To make everything weird, was that I forgot my cell, so I had to get someone else to text Bev.
Today was my last morning report, for I have a busy work schedule for the next 3 weeks

Thanks for all the reports and pictures. So good to see the boys doing so well. It does look like Green's fledge might have been a slip, not the purposeful takeoff you see when they mean to leave. Well, he made the most of it and did ok, anyway. :thumbup
Cute of White with his food. :hapdance:
And sweet little Blue Girl. :loveheart:

love to see green there hanks Sgb

report from july28

these boys are flying so great and soaring so high.

They chase after boht parents adn so often we loose track of adutls as they are in hiding LOL

White did his first food exchange yesterday. The gull wing was bigger than him Trust Chase. It was a litle unnerving at first as he started to come very low while carrying it an d it did not help that green was on his tail. He finally flew onto ledge at College plaza , 4 up from sobeys roof . He ate like a little trooper.

Green ended up by helicopter pad.

We often loose track of them way up in the clouds but eventually we hear their sweet voices. This is what is missed at end of season.

Green is already going out further, and my legs are tiring , looking for where he goes.

our watchers have had such a treat this year. So many have seen wonderful flying and exchanges and playing in the skies. hey are like precision jets when they fly together.

I will see what pictures we do have and start posting when I can. Sorry none of food exchanges as we are busy making sure they do O.K. tha t is our main purpose.

Thanks for the link to those pictures, kittenface! There are a couple of beauties in there. In particular, I love the one of Radisson leaving Clinical Sciences.

nice picutres KF

report July 29

it was a quieter day when i was there yesterday. We had a brief rainstorm. Winds were a bit gusty so a bit scary when the kids fly as they do.

Green I believe, spent most of afternoon on the netting again. He is a home boy. when the rains came , white chaged spots form top of College plaza for a spot in the ledges.

Green I believe decided to fly and gave a scare as he was tossed a bit in wind. But when I went looking, there he was on back of clinical science eating. must have seen an adult . we did not at that time

WE will have to watch as they venture out to ed building area. Radisson had to tangle with a few crows or ravens to keep them away from kids.

The watch is slowly coming to a close. Saturday is last offical day. I hope a few come out on Saturday to hopefully see the kids perform. I always find this time gratifying but serile.

Radisson is looking mighty fine right now. kids must be eating or off somewhere
Peter is on his way down.

Oh, how I miss the sounds of the city waking up. From the ticket machine , telling me to take my ticket. To the near miss of the cars in the parkade. As I windup to the top level and listen for the sounds of falcons. Then getting the very good eyewear that is suited for this kind of watching. Then, scanning the building tops and ledges for little feather sticking out over the edge. Or the usual spots for Chase and Radisson. Then a slow growling of traffic starts to wind it's way around the parkade. As buses make the usual sounds of psst off and on as it stops and starts to let people off. Just to hear the kakking of Radisson ,starts to make your heart race, to see what danger she sees. My head screams silently, not near the kids Oh, it is just a raven, thanks to her warning it flies even lower to the ground. Then the kids wake up wanting their breakfast. Funny how that sound, becomes music to a watchers ears. I will miss this season, as it had more first for me than all the other 3 years put together.

This would not have happened if it was not for Bev and Peter. They give you the tools to learn and fall head over heels in love with falcons. For all the new watchers to the seasoned watchers this has been a great year.

I still wake up at 5 am and look out my window, wondering how they are this morning.

the light is horrible down there, with extreme sun and then clouds but Peter did his best. the first 9 were taken about july26 and the last ones were taken July29 .

you can see how they progressed. We can usually get better pictures but too busy keeping an eye out.

Can hear them as I am processing this

july 30 U of A

hard to keep track of these guys these days. I am constantly walking but my legs are giving out.

They are as someone at site said, Houdini birds , appear , disappear. LOL

I have forgotten how it is with 2 males. They are completely different than females or one of each

they are growing up fast.

will be a hot one today. I am already burned but will try and find some shade somehow

Eyes to the skies
