Here's some good pics and videos on MAK's report from today, Bev. Genesee looked ready to go today..maybe tomorrow. I think there were 15 watchers today counting all the shifts.

Yes, MAK was born to be an on-the-street Falcon reporter! She takes some really good pics..much better than we can take! We got to see her Sunday when we went to Rochester to see our Falcon family and she's doing well after her surgery and pulmonary emboli ordeals.

I do know what you mean Kris G. I have the same issue at different forum where I am a member.

I see this happening on Rfalconcam Forum too. It used to be quite a chatty place about lots of different sites but seems like people aren't as interested anymore. I haven't seen Carly post anything on there in ages..guess many have migrated to FB.

Haven't seen her on FB much either--at least in BCAW. I hope everything is OK with her.

thank you Kris and CAtwoman.

wonderful pictures and report

Peter has FB which he rarely uses and I use it if necessary( hi sFB so it is in his name)

I just like coming here.

I guess FB is O.K. if you are just always watching one site, but I just do not have time to go to FB.

I do too..not like her to not post comments about happenings in Rochester, especially with DC being there.

Interest and participation is dwindling everywhere. On my forum just a handful of people still post about a few nests. After ten years of watching I too have been limiting my involvement. I call it forum-fatigue

Part of "the problem" is also that there are só many nests now. (I have 224 nests listed on my falcon nesting calender!)
And quite a few of the old falcons have gone, been replaced, that too is of influence on the dedication to a certain nest.

I post to share what I see and think is interesting, if nobody replies, that's sometimes a bit disappointing but I understand it completely. It's just not possible to keep up with every single nest, be it falcons, eagles, osprey or owls or whatever.

I do think we all have forum/nest fatigue...I too am guilty of not acknowledging a post and rarely have my posts acknowledged as well..and like DEF, somewhat disappointing, but understandable. I often zip through a thread, trying to keep up to date, and then move on, especially this time of year...pooped.

I do visit FB, but unless I visit daily, its impossible to track what is going on. posts/comments get shuffled all over a page..I realize that FB is quick, easy, and instant, but unless a page is devoted to only 1 nest (such as Rochester's page) its an inadequate way to document a nest.

RE: Carly (hope she doesn't mind)...she's on jury duty...bless her.. :girlcrazy:

(I'll try to do better responding..even if its only with a :loveshow: :ohyes: :imbored: :wow: or :sneakthru:

I've never been a big watcher of many nests. There's about 4-5 that I used to watch faithfully but not this year. I read posts on here, where I get the most information, and occasionally repost stuff onto Rfalconcam but, again, with little to no response. I can also say I'm as guilty as anyone for not commenting on posts here but I do skim through most of them.

Back in Rochester..no fledges yet but lots of rain!

We've had .5 " of rain just today..everything is soaked, standing water in fields that's going to result in damaged/lost crops for farmers. Sun is out now and kids are flapping..watchers have been waiting..& waiting..& waiting. :imbored:
