Thank you, Antilogical! That could be another reason that Dorothy wanted to feed him rather than encouraging him to self-feed like she would have done with her other kids. I had mentioned before that she probably knew that his feathers weren't ready for flight, but she probably also could tell that he was having trouble self-feeding. I'm still not totally convinced that he didn't bang his head on his way down & that's contributing to his problems, and who knows what kind of problems were caused by all the straining he did trying to get off his back. Glad that he's getting the help he needs now! :loveshow:

Oh no! I just was not expecting this. I really thought he would be an education bird. But now it is through a different route. And tonight I must bring this news to his #1 fan ... she will be heartbroken ...

oh my, my little Silver. I am devastated. :tissue:

someone said to me at our watch yesterday, how can you get so emotional over the birds. they are birds. They said you can get emotional over people . I said , we did and continue to do harm to our birds, animals and nature. they did not ask for this . most people have choices.

Well to me they are more than birds.

Silver was dear to my heart from the day he was born. I know how he was to you catwoman. This is just so sad. I cannot comprehend this. He was thriving so well and overcame so much. I am just glad he was cared for.
