Yes, we have had this night strong snow-fall - about 20 cm -. The falcon staying over-night in the box was PERKEO.

The image is not very clear but right now I see something in front of her, near her right foot.
Could that be an egg? ? ? ? ? ?

She keeps looking to her left, as if she hears something in that direction . . . little church mice perhaps ? :lol:

You're right--the image isn't very clear. In fact, I was beginning to wonder if the cam was frozen but I did see her open & close her eyes, so I knew it was. Mice--eek! :shock:

She backed out of view. No egg in the scrape yet. There she is again, still looking intensely to her left, our right.
Could be other birds in that tower somewhere and she is hearing them.

Sorry, it is me - PERKEO! You`ll recognize me by my round dark head and elegant small feet.
My darling JETTA is - ahem -much broader than me and "lives on bigger feet" as we say in German.
I stay every night here in the nestbox since a week, Lady JETTA still prefers to be on her wings at night.
No, she is not yet laying eggs, she thinks it is too cold, 17 F this night here in Heidelberg.
She wants to get in when she starts breeding after her third egg she told me...

You know I always think of the female as the one staying at and in the nest at night, until Perkeo. But now that I am aware, I believe there are other nests where it's the male that hangs out. Couldn't get the cams here for a while.

Thanks Hans-Marten...I needed a good laugh!!! We will try and remember their "difference"...so I guess we STARED at the cam the other night waiting for Perkeo to lay an egg...hee hee

Hello and Good morning! I just laid my first egg in this season at local time 14.00! So I have to stay from now on more time at home - sigh! - and you will have a better chance to see, watch or even like me, will you? You are already fond of my PERKEO so I hope you`ll admire me a little bit,too.
