I've been watching Yankee and Dixie every day and every day they pant far too much in my opinion. I am going to go on a rant here so just bear with me please. I am angry and disheartened that no one is investigating or if they have will let the public know what is going on at this nest box. No one has ever let us know what happened with the eggs either. Maybe I read too much (and I do) but I feel there is some sort of conspiracy going on. These two wonderful beautiful birds seems to be suffering. Does no one care?
I am still a novice as I have only been following peregrine falcons for about three years now but I have observed several nest sites all over the world and some of of them are in hot spots. I DO NOT, however, see panting going on like Dixie and Yankee exhibit. Sometimes Dixie and Yankee seem hesitant to enter the box!
Remember the movie "Terms of Endearment" when Shirley McClaine begs the nurses to give her daughter the pain medication! I feel like that I am begging for someone to give us some answers about this nest box. PLEASE help Dixie and Yankee. They do not deserve neglect.........
Okay I am done and please know that I don't mean to offend anyone but I just would like to see some concern of the part of the professionals for these two falcons!
Thanks for the updates..
I'm still not able to get the cams (darn Windows 10), I was sure that we'd hear SOMETHING - at least opinions about the temperature of the box (an average? does it get hotter when the machinery in the building is on? Is it dangerously hot? Anything?)
I know very little about Pfalcons - but I have learned that falcons, osprey, bald eagles pant when they are hot. Of all the cams/birds I've seen - I've also not seen panting like Dixie and Yankee, either.
