:congrats Have been checking here every day a couple of times. Glad they finally have one. I said on the Harrisburg sit I'm glad all these birds are laying their eggs the way they are that way we can see all of them hatch and grow up. :6snowflake: :sum9:

Arjen, thank you so much for recording that...

Aries has been on duty all morning. In typical Durand fashion, she's left the male in charge. he's mostly been on the ledge all morning..

:sham3: Thanks for catching that great video, Arjen! Looks like Donna edited yesterday's blog post after the video was posted, but still notes uncertainty in the egg's arrival time. According to the title on Arjen's video, it was 17:59 or 5:59 PM.

I am so impressed with Aries. He has really stepped up to the plate as a new Dad. Durand has put him on daytime egg duty from day one! It's now noon and she is still off doing her thing. Maybe the egg delay was him learning the game plan under Durand's Rules...lol. There are perks to being on egg duty and Aries is taking full advantage of them all. :teehee:

11:35 am - Dad on egg duty, shading the eggs. Temp 69 degrees.
Image

11:45 am - Egg duty is a great way for Dad to catch some Zzzzzzzzzzzz's.
Image

11:53 am - ...or a great way to catch some rays AND shade the egg...lol. Aries, the multi-tasker.
Image

12:37 am - ...or a great excuse to lie down.

Donna's blog reported the egg; I think she said "WooHoo we have an egg." Not real sure of all the timing though but she did report it. The blog note below the "WooHoo" was one that indicated we are still waiting for the egg!!

I know. Donna posted at 7:35 pm, shortly after it happened. I think the link to Ajen's video may have been added to her blog post later as an edit, since the video appeared on BCAW at 2 am. It doesn't matter. Donna was uncertain as to exactly when the egg arrived - Arjen's video indicates 17:59, which is 5:59 pm.

Whoever it is, they're still on the roof. It would be something if it were Aries, knowing how Durand likes perching on the cam. Too dark to see if she's in the box. Temp in Columbus is 65 degrees right now. So, no need to cover the egg.

Nobody in the box at first light..Aries did come and check on them as it was getting light.

edit to add a very lightened pic!!

He is currently in the box, standing over the egg (7:24 am)..

My mission today is to try to catch Durand on Cam!! (and to try and figure out how a raccoon got on top of my house!!)

:laugh2 Ha ha! I'm glad she made it home OK. I was getting worried. That's the longest absence I ever recall her taking after egg laying. Big day and night out on the town? Good heavens Durand! Such a party girl! :teehee:

No one home right now. 2nd egg could come tonight or tomorrow.

(Those raccoons are looking for a place to have a little family - Yikes SGB! Sounds like they are trying to get into the attic. They are excellent climbers. Just like squirrels. Isn't it hot where you are? The attic must be blazing hot!)

Nadia, I'm with you!! I know I haven't been able to watch much because of my schedule, but I thought surly I would have seen her enter the box last night and exit this morning...she still could have done that in complete darkness...she did that last year...I just think she was partying..
