Peter and were down for a few hours this evening. I will post pictures , I promise, but will do report


When we got there they were both eating . Green girl on the W ,on east side and then male on the N . I saw he had a bit of prey also.

They would not cooperate and show the left leg. the male flew off and we thought he was coming back in for a canoodle, but Green Girl moved up to the front the box and he went back up to the N .Peter was able to get an "0 " so we are close. WE are pretty sure it is our male as they are so comfortable with each other. But we will wait till we get full ID WE will get Greens also but we know it is her.

We will try and go down for a bit on Wed and then we cannot go down again till SAT as we will have company.

Well, I don't know where they went-but they aren't here. Its not uncommon for them to do a bit of overnight exploring at this time of year - so hopefully that's what is going on. Or maybe they are being cheeky, and just hiding when they know I am looking :)

how old was Bill???

Bill is a seasoned veteran! He has been nesting here for 7 years, and is now on his third mate. He is un-banded, so we are not really sure where he is from-but he is a prolific hunter, so we assume he comes from a good line. Gord has suspicions that due to his coloring, he may be descendent from "Stud"- who was apparently one of the founders of the Peregrine rebound in the area, back in the 80's.

so he is at least 10 this year. He is one mighty fine looking bird and was so good with chick last year.

I sure hope they make it there soon. one year it was mid April before we had all our birds home.

OK, our birds are settling down a little. I just saw what I think was a female, so that SHOULD be Charlotte, (she's a big girl!) perched above the nest. I also received another report of what was likely Bill, yesterday, on the other side of the plant. So fingers still crossed, but not looking bad so far!

-and yes, Bill is an amazing parent. I was a little dubious when I put that chick in the nest last year how it would work out-but he took right to it, and it was a huge win thanks to his great instincts!

my cam is up and i am recording. had to wait for cam to go up, as it was off line earlier. So may have been in box while cam was down

sometimes they take awhile to get it together. you know us women, liked to be courted properly LOL


hopefully they are not nesting elsewhere but he is used to this box so should be good

I've been checking frequently Bev. For me so far I haven't seen anyone. Actually this year I been looking at of the sites listed above. I did hear some carrying on which I think could have been bowing and chirping quite a few times at the Alberta site.



I stand corrected - it's the Bell Tower where I've heard the bonding sessions but not seen the peregrines.
