I am not concerned (yet)...if you've ever watched Durand when she has the sun shift, she is 10 times worse than this!! She looks like she'll stroke out any second. If Falcons could sweat, she'd be drenched and sweat would be dripping off her beak. She continues to pant, long after the sun has left the box. Aries is different. He pants like crazy, but doesn't contort into weird positions trying to avoid the sun like Durand does..

If Dixie/Yankee continue to pant long into the night, then I'll be worried..

I'm not trying to minimize as I too watched last year..but, for a comparison, watch Durand if she pulls the sun shift. You'll have to close the cam its so bad..

I guess with a lot of these boxes, air circulation (ie, breeze) is poor. (even though the columbus box has holes, I don't think it helps.)

I think I am on edge because of last year so I am so happy you weighed in SGB. I am going with your thoughts and I will plan to watch Durand and Aires as a comparison.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really nervous too because of last year, but I've also watched Durand a lot and Dixie handles this much better than she does...for comparison and perspective, this was Durand a few minutes ago..(I finally had to close the cam...LOL

We are suppose to have temps in the 80's today so imagine we will see plenty of panting. Tomorrow cooler temps return.

ETA: I was reading your response Carly when I looked at the cam and noticed she had an egg out in front of her. I had to do a double take because I thought I saw movement. Sure enough, you could see the little one moving and she pulled it back under.
