Bird Cams Around the World

Yep, that what I was thinking. I think the big bird from yesterday was what she caught. It was very, very fresh and I think it was after first one was hatched and he came in to babysit.

I do think he brought in that small scrap yesterday, but that seemed to be just a scrap.

I'm sure she will get him in line. I think that's what she was just doing - "Get us food...NOW"


Honestly, the way she stepped on baby 2, scared me for just 1 minute, especially with baby 1 so hungry.

And the food there, I think that's the thing she's been hauling and eating since yesterday.

So, the pip I saw is the egg that has the eggshell over it...

And I think she's getting antsy since she knows they need food. I have to wonder if he ever made a food delivery to her. I can't remember and I wonder if he was focused on protecting/incubating Mom's eggs to focus on courting her. Obviously he came out to mate with her, but I'm wondering if she had to hunt for herself?

So funny - Dad eats the shell.. he did on the first one too... and I thought he was aout to haul in that carcass again.

You think he's getting yelled at each time he walks out and checks around the corner?

I thought for sure she was going to come back with food.

So, we are on the same wavelength.

She is getting much better getting the food in. Good Momma.

She is doing so good in my opinion. With what little is left, she's able to pull little bits so each of the eyasses are getting some.

Well, if she inherited her Mom & Dad's hunting skills, I guess if he covers the kids, she can bring in large meals (pigeon), which will at least last them for a day. Not ideal, but I'd rather see that than the babies and Cady not get fed.

You can tell she's hungry by the way she's tearing as much as possible from that scrap

I think Dad used to cache next level down near the drain hub at the corner of the building. Remember when Mom & Cady were battling, they showed that corner & there were like 4 or 5 birds cached there. Yesterday they scanned & there was nothing in the corner.

That's why I think she was caching on the other side of nestbox, next level down, visible on the outside cam. That's what she did yesterday after the later feed. Just hope Dad's instincts kick in quick.

Still only one chick and still has a messy face. Dad with the baby who is being very vocal.

Cadence is back with the prey dad left with and tried to feed the babies...no takers! Ok one of them took a few bites and she is still trying to feed them. What a good Mom!

Dad feeds and then after he leaves Cadence comes in and tries to feed them, one took a few bites.

Dad looks pretty good at this, especially with brand new wobbly chicks. He gets the food right in there with small bites. I wonder if he has prior experience? It's interesting that Cady left the newborns for so long today and allowed Dad to do a feed. Maybe she knows he has more experience? The dynamics are so different with each pair. I suppose I am just accustomed to watching Durand at Columbus. She is so possessive of her recent hatchlings - barely leaving them alone and doing all the feeds for about 2 weeks. Cady is new at this. She is learning. I must admit that she is a beauty with the Peale's subspecies influence in her markings. She is gorgeous.

Carly - I'm with you. I think she was hunting. That piece Dad fed looks like the piece that he finally brought Cadence last night. He must have known where it was stashed.

Hopefully this will all get sorted out and a cache will be built up to feed the growing family.

Most important thing is they got fed

I think we've possibly got an intruder at Union and my guess is it's a female...

Cadence just ran out of the box, tail up in air - flared, looking up, kaaking...

Dad is now with kids. Fully covering kids and eggs.

She was VERY upset.



ETA: same posture we saw when Mom was dealing with Cady when she first arrived & same posture I've seen Beauty in with an intruder.
