All nice & calm for the hour that I just watched. Cadence brooding and relaxed the entire time. It's chilly. There was some drizzle this morning and the temp is 54 degrees with a good breeze. Sunshine is expected later. Kids will probably remain covered for a while. Hopefully, the intruder has moved on.

9:30 am - Cadence with her babies.

9:50 am - Relaxed today and napping.

Cadence just came home and took the prey that was sitting outside the igloo to do a feed. I haven't been watching continuously, but the kids are not very interested. The younger one wants to sleep and the older one took a few bites, but already has full crop. Cadence is now brooding the prey, the chicks, and the eggs all together. Keeping the next meal warm..lol.

1:12 pm - Feed by Cadence. Only the oldest chick ate and already had a full crop that you can see here.

You might want to keep a close eye on first Jersey City and then Union County Courthouse this pm.

Chick check just finished in record time. Juliet was not leaving that scrape. Mike had the blue glove I think and collected the eggs.

Not there this soon. I'm not sure they are going there today, but the two sites are close.

Jersey City:

Thanks, Carly. I could see that Juliet heard people behind the door way before they came out to the terrace. She was NOT leaving!! I'll get better using the screen capture.

No chick check today. Building is probably closed. Easier to do 101 Hudson on a weekend.

Great video!! Terka, you caught all the action. Mike was the red glove and Cathy from Raptor Trust was the blue glove. She didn't bother with chicken, she just shoved the trichiomisis(sp) pill right down the chicks throat and put it back. Mike has pics and narrative. I wish I could have been there. Very short notice and too many people for weekend security to handle.

Union - I noticed the other day the babies have parasites again this year. Last year the blackened areas (scabs) under their wings didn't show up until the chicks were a week or two older. I wonder if that has anything to do with it?

I hope the little one survives!

Union - The active chick is squirming about constantly, like it can't get comfortable. Which I imagine would happen when mites or lice are biting you constantly. They need to get up there and treat the chick(s?) for parasites now before it begins to weaken too.

What were they treating the Jersey City chick for?

Trichomonas. Since a lot of pigeons are brought in as prey, they were concerned. Their website states that if signs of Trich were present, they would make the trip to the nest to treat and retrieve the eggs. Do they do banding here? It concerns me that they may disrupt this nest twice in a matter of weeks. Juliet was really upset yesterday.
