Here is a new Bald Eagle cam. :attention: Thank you to Vickie (View Nesting Birds)
The female is a bird that was born and
raised in Dollywood and then released into the wild.
The nest location
is in Sevierville, TN.
They have 3 eggs (not sure of the dates!)

Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge near Vian, Oklahoma

March 22, 2018: There are some technical problems with the camera equipment. Unfortunately, the problem is up in the tree, and we cannot fix it while birds are in the nest, so the camera will likely be offline for the rest of the season. Barring a bad storm that damages the nest tree, the birds should be fine from this point forward.

Sevierville, TN update...facebook 3/25

In the winter of 2018, local photographer Charles Collins contacted Al Cecere, AEF President, to inform AEF that there was a new male adult bald eagle seen perched with Lady Independence and at the nest, and this eagle was also wearing a metal leg band. While we have no idea where the original Sir Hatcher is, whether something happened to him, or whether Lady simply changed mates, eagles typically mate for life, but in rare cases, they will change mates.

Mr. Collins made many attempts to capture the new male's band number, but it wasn’t until March 23, 2018 that AEF staff (Crystal Slusher & Michelle Bauer) and the SM Eagle Cam Liaison (Debi Chernisky) were able to utilize the newly streaming cams to obtain the new male's band number (USFWS #629-43867).

AEF records show the new male, now approximately 6 years old, was brought to AEF in 2012 because he failed to fledge from his wild nest located in Marion County, TN. The eaglet was placed in AEF’s Douglas Lake hack tower and was released at approximately 14-16 weeks old. The eaglet was named Chattanooga at the time of the release, he was given patagial tag of B2 and USFWS band # 629-43867. To continue honoring the contributions of Bob Hatcher to the restoration of the Bald Eagle in Tennessee, the new male will be named Sir Hatcher II.

September 2018: We have replaced the broken camera at Sequoyah NWR in preparation for the 2019 nesting season.
Now we are hoping that the eagles decide to use this nest once again!
We should know sometime in November or December.
