:7val: Niecey just quietly asked for a mating ... only very subtle chirps from both ... but, she was bowing slightly and tipping her tail up and down while watching him from the stick ... and Lil Dad left and circled back and obliged!!

I see Niecey is in the nest sleeping already. Wonder if she had an egg and no one saw. Usually she doesn't sleep like this this earlier unless there is an egg. Here's hoping we have one in the morning or during the night. I'll have to check when hubby gets home at 1:30

:15heartbeat: Heida, I watched her for a long time after they mated and he left. She went to the box and did not lay an egg. Just resting ... has even slept some. In fact, she has not changed her position, since lying here. Of course the reason she is here ... is because the time is nearing. But, when ...

No egg as of 10:30 p.m. Niecey is standing on the wide part of the stick.

Lil Dad arrived @ 6:49 to the stick. They chatted some, then Lil dad preened and eventually went to the nest. She flew to the nest @ 7:04 and joined him where they chatted and bowed and he rushed out the front door and flew off. She began working on the bole and is now lying in it as I leave. And their day begins ... :15heartbeat:

Mating @ 7:34 on the stick. Edit to add: She signaled she wanted another go, but Lil Dad did not return and she flew to the point and is preening.

:15heartbeat: At 9:12 EDT Lil Dad brought her something to eat while she was on the point. He dropped it nearish the pole and she came down to eat it, while we couldn't see it @ 1st, we did catch a glimpse of it as she picked up the remainders and flew toward the university with it. He was on the stick @ that time. He went to the nest and she flew back and joined him. As I leave, he is gone and she is on the stick!

I've been in Belize on a birding trip for 8 days, and am enjoying sitting here watching this morning. Could only get snatches of info while away. We saw five different kinds of falcons - Aplomado, Bat, Laughing, Kestrel, and one Peregrine. Ready for Niecey to produce this first egg now.
