News March 2019



Presently we are unsure if peregrines will use the college clock tower to nest this year. The camera was switched on at the start of March and has been monitored. To date no birds have been seen at the nest making breeding preparations (courting, making a scrape).



Over the last few weeks (early February onwards) only a single peregrine has been seen at the clock tower however recently (Monday 11th March) a pair was observed at the clock tower by a local watcher.

So, it is possible the clock tower could be used this year but we will have to wait and see.....there is still time.


It is likely that the Bournemouth peregrine population is in a state of flux as reports and observations are suggesting there could be a second pair of peregrines in town.

It is also possible that one of the clock tower pair had perished and has only recently been replaced.


We will keep this page updated over the next couple of weeks (second half of March) and if it looks like the clock tower nest will be used we will load the live camera.
