How precious the little one is. Thanks for the pictures and video. No longer watch the California cams because of the 'no interference' policy, but I love these nests and appreciate the updates.

we had a feed. first one for second chick. it was blocked but I think they go t enough. was over 10 minutes

here is video of hatch in progress I edited as it would be too long. ignore first 4 seconds as I went back . started at 7:51 and she pulled shell out at 9:43am .
I have since seen full youngster at 10:12am

Feeding time. Val is obviously a new mom cause she keeps the food too far away. However, she distributed the bites evenly. :7val:

Bev, one thing I can't figure out, though, is why your video and pic are inter-mixed with the feeding I got. I posted them right away. Maybe the forum got mixed up between your time and mine. There sure wasn't a hatch going on when I got the food shots! :10val:

there was a big pip at 7:51 and then it was cracked at 8:54am and chick started coming out. she took whole shell out at 8:58am so I knew chick was out .

the drying of chick was between 8:58 and 9:43am . could see it was white but wet.
first saw all of youngster wet at 10:13( white). val went out as soon as she heard Dan at 10:39am .

she had come in at 7:35am with a wee bit , which was out front in box, but I think she saw chick was hatching and stopped
Dan in to feed at 10:39am . he fed 2 as other was in back. I have video of it.
dan left at 10:49 adn then came back in and picked that piece in box, and then val came in.

that was Dan that fed and youngster was there but wet . it even stood up with mouth open.

there was a feed at 2:37pm and I am not sure if young one got fed. I am not sure if it was Dan or not who fed . my recorder was full and so could not retape, but I think other egg is pipped also

in your picture#3 , baby is on back ones back. I will post video of that feed later. do not want to disrupt cams now
i put an arrow where number 3 chick is. barlely dry.

I was eating but I got one picture before the feed. Baby is on the opposite side of his siblings. I did watch her feeding them (while I was feeding myself) and baby was fed at least 4 times. She was very patient and fed him while he couldn't stand up very well. He got the front of the pack. :flirty:
