Thanks to all for the early reports this morning. i will be home all day waiting for someone to come to do some work here. I think I've mentioned that my hearing is not good, so if anything is going on I'll need to SEE it. Niecey was on the eggs before I started looking at these messages, and the wind has arrived. It's to be even stronger this afternoon.

Food delivery for Niecey a few minutes ago. Looks like either a Red-winged Blackbird or Grackle. And I see a friend of mine is reading this forum now. :-)

Should be an egg day tonight, since she's been doing evenings so we can watch. :teehee:

Niecey on the stick and Lil Dad on the point eating as I leave for now. I thought I heard another mating awhile ago, but didn't view the cam @ that time.

Saw a canoodle on the stick a few minutes ago. Everything seems normal right now. Not sure, but I don't think another egg will arrive until tomorrow. Time will tell.

Little Dad just brought a snack for Niecey. Am almost positive it's a Robin. :-( She flew off with it, most likely to her spot under the U Building's roof.

Niecey returned to the stick a few minutes ago. I guess she finished her snack. Shortly after she returned there was a canoodle on the stick, and now Little Dad is on the point. I'm going to be away from the computer for about 45 minutes now.

Hello Harrisburg!! It has been a while since I last logged in (a couple years probably). The last time I checked the site on a daily basis was the year when Little Red Girl was here. After that, I would get on this forum every year, but wasn't able to check in on a daily basis. Glad to see Little Dad is still here and that there are two eggs. I remember Reenie was the moderator. But I've only seen 1 or 2 post this year from her. Is she okay? I loved reading her posts!!!

Welcome back Kathy 0651. Do you know Red Girl is in Wilmington, DE, and has laid FIVE eggs again this year? Reenie posts more on the falcon blog on Facebook than on this forum. And mercifully I've not seen anything disturbing on the cams today. I am going to be going out in about ten minutes, and will be gone for several hours. Wind is really picking up here and it's starting to rain lightly. Niecey was on the shield when I first started typing this.

Saw Niecey on the stick overhang, but closer to the ledge crying @ about 6:30 EDT and then she flew. In a minute or so, I saw a falcon fly toward the U and up and over and then around to the back out of sight. Then seconds later I saw a falcon coming back this way, but veered off toward the right between those buildings, never making it down this way. So, nobody home @ 6:40.

Edit to add: Someone arrived on the ledge with prey calling out @ about 6:45. Can be seen on cam 3. Was away for a bit and coming back Lil Dad was on the stick. You could hear calling and he headed toward the nest and Niecey is landed on the stick. He flew and we have a mating @ 6:55! Niecey remains on the stick and Lil Dad flew to the point afterwards. To her eggs @ 6:58. I see it is still windy there!

Lil Dad on the point looking around before he goes to bed. Niecey resting peacefully. Hopefully egg number 3 by morning. Windy till tomorrow. Sunday the winds die down. Cooler temps til the end of the week.

Lil Dad still on the point. Winds are strong enough now that he has thrown his left wing out twice against the ledge to catch himself, so as not to fall! 6:28 Oops, the wind nearly got him this time. A big wing throw out to catch himself!!

Good grief, he's about to be blown off the point.

Edit:

Thought he was gone for sure that time. Man.

Hi Kathy0651!

Well he flew, on purpose. He was fussing a bit before that though.

Back home, but of course had to check on my phone a few times. Niecey had her head tucked in and looked quite content. Little Dad was on the point when I left the restaurant, but figured he'd be gone by the time I got home. Fingers crossed that there will be no disturbances tomorrow or from now on.
