June 6, 2019
I have seen one of the youngsters up on the bridge, but not both.
He'd been flying pretty good, aggressive.
I have seen one of them perch in the doorway looking out.
Evidently one of them fludged - read the notes on explore.
You can figure it out - Dad brot prey, tempted him, but flew off with it.

Now that I think about it - they ran the HIGHLIGHTS video for awhile yesterday - so they may have put #1 back June 5 - I'll watch at dawn.
They are offcam all day so I didnt miss him

5.30 am - Its light enuf to see now - One youngster is there.
She is flapping away in nest - she looks angry
Now she's perched on curb in doorway looking out, looking down
She may hear her brother

6.30 am
She's stood there in doorway this whole hour.
She began shaking stamping looked really pistoff!
Turned and came in and stamped around.

- here's a cam note

Thank you for a successful rescue operation today!
CamOp Pan Mod - From Chesapeake Conservancy FB page

One of the eyasses wound up on their ground level. With guidance from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, a plan was hatched to rescue the eyas. Our former employee Patrick Smith came over to lend a hand. The eyas does not appear to be injured. USFWS will examine the eyas, hopefully band it, and it should be returned to the scrape tomorrow.

LOOK! That had to be a fledge! Allmost! He looks proud of himself

:15heartbeat: Great pic!
I watched a lot - never saw Male's return.
I doubt he'll stay long!

Sometime on June 6th Male was returned to nest by biologist Craig Koppie.
Click link for The Hand and angry Male being returned
https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/d9 ... 5b7e69.png

June 7
7 am

The female youngster jumped from doorway curb up to bridge and ran offcam.
The male ran down the roof offcam.
Mom's been buzzing the kids out there -
she must believe they are ready to fledge outta there.

Sis is not close to fledge
Male some of them on Explore call Zephyr is banded

Sis got up on the bridge and ran back & forth,
backed up to the doorway edge and fell off
Fortunately she landed on that outside step Barb uses when she returns
After a bit she came inside
WHEW!

Parent is buzzing them
I didnt think they did that til kids were ready to fledge

here is a video from june10- on e youngster, flapping and carrying around prey. this is practice for when it fledges. has to know how to do this in air and on perches
this was early morning
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJd3d62 ... e=youtu.be

this video was from yesterday. although i know they do fly bys to get youngsters going, after this happening at San Jose and then a take over, not sure if fly by is friendly or not.

June 14, 2019 FLAG DAY (and PQTUS birthday)
I read Explore this morning and they believe Sis fledged June 13
I observed her flying inside nest. She was ready.
Sweet pic there of Barb and her new Boh together.
I wonder if she is grateful to him
She has such an odd personality
