Glad you caught Little Dad at home, Loza. I am striking out every time I look. We are experiencing a major heat wave here, with every day until Saturday being 90 degrees or higher.

Niecey arrived on the shield about ten minutes ago. She's gone now, and one REALLY hot juvie is sitting on the ledge near the stick.

Little Dad was just on the point, only to be chased off by a screaming juvie. I think Little Dad may be up on the camera perch. Trying to ID the juvie with my phone. And the juvie just flew off around the corner.

Blue and White are both on the ledge. Blue on the point, White next to the bulding.

Wish I had not missed all them, it's been so quiet here for a couple days. Glad I got to see Red. Nobody spent the night.

Seventy-two hatches here since 2000 per "Falcon Chatter" with chronology chart:

And hot temperatures and falcons on "Falcon Wire":

7/19/2019 :: It's Hot Out There!
Peregrine falcons, like any bird, have various adaptations and strategies to deal with hot temperatures. Birds have a higher body temperature than humans, averaging around 105 degrees Fahrenheit. On hot days, they pant, like dogs, to help dissipate heat. You will notice the falcons being more active in early mornings and evenings as they seek shade and rest during the middle of the day. Birds of prey will often soar higher to take advantage of the cooler winds at higher altitudes. The falcons also spread their wings or fluff their feathers to allow cooler air flow.

Had the cam on this morning, and noticed a slight vibration, which seemed to indicate an adult landed on the camera perch. Flipped to a different view and found a screaming juvie near the point and staring up at the cam. The juvie came over to the shield and then went into the scrape long enough to see that it was White. He got back up on the shield briefly and then flew off down Market Street toward the river.

I was about to post the same thing. It's still around 94 degrees here as of 8:00. And there may be more than one falcon over on the U roof.
