After a feeding about an hour ago, Niecey left, and Little Dad came into the scrape and spent a LONG time snuggling with his chicks. Niecey arrived back on the point, but she didn't chase him. I think she was still looking for the Crows, but I didn't see them tonight. I was horrified to see a bird flying at Niecey. Well, it was Little Dad, and there was a quick canoodle on the point!

Loved your videos, Terka! I took advantage of the beautiful weather today to make a very quick spin downtown for a long overdue falcon fix. Little Dad was on the point the entire time I was down there. Niecey was on the stick for a bit and relocated to the shield. There were Bluejay feathers on the sidewalk under the end of the ledge. VERY quiet downtown. No trains running, so no line of taxis waiting to pick up passengers. I did see one Greyhound bus at the lower level of the train station, so they are still running.

I'm concerned that when the eyasses fledge, if there are going to be enough of those wonderful people around who rescue them if they have a problem getting back to the ledge, etc. as occurs.

Checked in a couple of times today, and Niecey was on the shield, chicks napping, and caught Lil Dad on the point. It was then I remembered how stunningly beautiful they both are.

:flirty:

Hi alnc, Welcome.

I'm sure the rescue squad will all show up if humanly possible. These people, several of whom I consider friends, are devoted to this site and the falcons here.

Jane,

Glad you were able to go downtown to see them.

Little Dad was on the point about half an hour ago working on some breakfast, which I THINK was a Red-bellied Woodpecker. He ate some of it before taking it to Niecey and the chicks. She fed them some, left, and then fly off with the prey. After a bit she returned for another short feeding. Beautiful day here today, and it's to be pretty warm again.

Not sure how long since they ate, but little is fussing and still hungry. I believe that he even attempted to bite the egg.

I am not able to get any of the cams right now, but they were working earlier. I'm kind of figuring it's not just me.

Lilttle chick and big chick were eating away when I opened the cam. Baby go plenty and turned away to snuggle. Just then though the other big chick decided to get up and eat, it appeared that he found a food back there and ate it. Then when it went over to Niecey, she fed it another foot.

:shock

heida

I don't know anything about the banding, I just assumed they would.

:1val: Heida, I was at an osprey nest believe it or not, when in that chat someone posted a pic of a peregrine nest in PA that I am unfamiliar with. They mentioned the name of the gentleman that does banding here and said he would not be banding the falcons this year at that site. Also, from a comment made here quite awhile back, maybe even before the eggs hatched, made me wonder if they'll be able to do a fledge watch this season. With the current circumstances, we just have to be prepared that things may be different this year or not ...

About ten minutes ago Little Dad came into the scrape after having been on the stick for a while. Niecey was also in the scrape. He chattered at her for a bit, and she hopped up on the shield. Little Dad found a few scraps of food and fed the chicks a few bites. He then retreated, and now he's on the camera perch. Chilly rain here today. It might not even make it to 50 degrees.

Thanks for the info, what a small world, eh? I sure hate that they won't be banding. Keeping up with the chicks we know and love is a crucial of falcon cam watching. For me anyway. And somebody always needs rescuing. I'm sure our crowd would be willing to do it, but if there is nobody available to check them out to make sure if they are ok or not, that would be tragic.

I can't think about that now.

Here is Niecey with her leg stuck out

Pretty sure I heard Lil'Dad whistle at her.
