Banding complete. 2 girls and 2 boys, but I do not know band #s yet. :flirty:
I took some pictures from the top of a parking garage, but have not reviewed them yet.
Here is one that John captured after they received their jewelry.
One looks like it was the victim of cow tipping!

I think bands are black/blue

M/73 - Rex (male) named for Rex Watters, a long time DNR wildlife biologist at Lake Monroe, retiring this year after more than 40 years of service.

S/03 - McCoy (male) named after Bill McCoy who retired as refuge manager of Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge in Indiana after almost 50 years of working for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

M/74 - Leath (female) named after Breann Leath, an IMPD officer killed in the line of duty on April 9, 2020.

S/02 - Courage (female) named for all of us during these times.

I thought the same thing. It coudl be that since they were on the ledge and not in the comfortable room, that they grabbed the wrong band. When I get John's report, I'll verify.

We have a cruiser. Yikes. Our city is dangerous with lots of unrest now. Last night we had an 8:00 curfew and it is generally not safe to go downtown. Maybe today will be calmer...

I was hoping they would wait a while but I don't know. First fledge may be a first fall - unintentional.

Shortly after 6 PM, I received a call about a banded bird on the ground on Meridian Street just north of the circle.  I took Frank with me and set out.  With all the protests (and tonight it looked peaceful) I couldn't drive right there since no vehicular traffic on the circle.  Two awesome citizens were protecting the bird who was hunkered down in one of the alcoves of the SalesForce Tower right behind the church.
I thought it would be a grab and go, but the little bugger managed to scoot right out of there.  Flew low for about 10 yards but the young man who was helping got in front of him and he stopped immediately.  I put the net over him and got him crated to take to the Hattons.  With all that was going on, I did not want to deliver the bird to Market Tower.  I will do that tomorrow during the day.

M/73 - Rex (male) named for Rex Watters, a long time DNR wildlife biologist at Lake Monroe, retiring this year after more than 40 years of service.

Chris described him (Rex the bird) as "plump and well-fed"!

I included the pics taken at the Hattons plus an additional one that I think Rex would say "Yes Please"!!!
