:harvest: Ma did not spend the night. She has not been seen since she flew out of the nest on Friday 11/20/20 at 7:03 am. She had flown in that morning to the nest arriving with Pa at 6:52. It is possible she was the eagle seen flying over the nest tree 3 times on Sunday 11/22/20 at 5:39 pm per the app cam while Pa and the female were on the nest.

The female arrived to the nest at 7:21 this morning with Pa arriving seconds later with a fluff delivery. Prior to his landing on the nest you could see him circle out from under the nest tree from the left. Then they aerated. Pa flew to the left branch at 7:23 and then out as the female spread the fluff, but she stopped to see where he headed. The female flew to the left branch at at 7:27 and out at 7:31.

At 8:07, Pa to the nest with a possible squirrel and eats. He finished at 9:18 and flew to the left branch and feaked and flew out at 9:19.

Pa in at 11:26 with a fluff delivery and starts spreading with the female arriving within seconds and she picked at the fluff. Then they aerated and she spread the fluff some. Pa to the rear branch at 11:31. The female found something to eat within the fluff and placed it up on the left rails and ate it. Probably scraps from Pa's squirrel. Female to the rear branch below Pa's at 11:33. He had noticed her eating off the rails and he turned around to face her and I think he is trying to check out what she has eaten as he brought his beak close to hers and she pulled back a little and they almost snipped on each other. Then she feaked on her branch. Pa then stood more erect as he looked down at her. They are vocal at 11:46. He keeps looking down at her. She flew at 11:50 for the day and he watched to see where she went. He turned to face the rear again at 11:57 and flew out the rear for the day seconds later.

It has been raining for quite some time this evening. Eagle vocals with responses at 11:53 pm. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:55 am.

:harvest: Ma did not spend the night. It's windy this morning. Came in at 6:23 and Pa was in the bowl standing and the female was standing in the nest and both were fluffed out. ( Per chat, one arrived at 5:52 and the other at 5:53.) Probably Pa first as the female tends to follow him in. Pa aerated the bowl at 6:35 and the female joined in. She moved some fluff. They continued to aerate, stood a bit, then she crouched down on the floor of the nest. She reached over and aerated the bowl, then stood and aerated the floor. Pa stood in the bowl. She adjusted the right rails, Pa spread his wings a couple times and got some lift with the second spread from the wind. They stood more, then aerated the bowl together. At 6:58, Pa to the left branch and flew seconds later. She watched him go, then stood for awhile. She alerted at 7:18 while watching out the left side of the nest. She turned to face the left, crouches down and suddenly a sub adult tries to enter the nest from the left and she leapt up and flew and made contact with the intruder before it could land on the nest. You could hear the contact and fussy chirps from them as they fell downward in a scuffle and out of sight.

At 2:20, the female arrived to the nest and perched on the curve of the left and rear rails. At 2:25, she was vocal and came off the rails and into the nest and Pa arrived with a stick and placed to the right rails, she aerated the bowl, then Pa came over and joined her. At 2:27, the female went to the left rails and let out some soft vocals. She flew at 2:31 and Pa watched to see where she headed. Then Pa flew up and over the left branch at 2:35.

Eagle vocals are heard in the distance at 5:13. Pa to the nest at 5:20 with the same spot of blood on his tail feathers as seen on a arrival to the nest yesterday morning that is visible when the feathers are spread. He aerated the bowl, then stood. The female arrived at 5:22 landing on the rear rails and walked to the bowl to assist Pa with aeration. Pa pulled up a large wad of fluff from the bowl, then they did deeper aeration. There are snow flurries. The female crouched at 5:24 on the nest floor near the rear rails. Pa to the right rails to adjust. The female reached out to move fluff, then stood and went toward the front of the nest to do the same. Next she went to the right rails to adjust as Pa watched. Then he adjusted the tangle. At 5:26, the female to the left rails and flew seconds later. Pa watched. He flew at 5:28 from the curve of the rear and left rails. Snow flurries have almost ceased.

Pa arrived to the nest at 8:05 and stood a bit, to the bowl to aerate, then stood more. He flew out the rear of the nest at 8:10.

The nest remains empty as I leave at 1:05 am.

:1snowmancarrot: Ma did not spend the night on the nest. Still has not been seen on the nest since early morning on 11/20/20. At 7:01 this morning, I found Pa and the female standing on the nest and puffed out d/t cooler temps I suppose. (Per chat, Female in at 6:31 and laid in the bowl and Pa in at 6:59 with a stick.) Pa aerated the bowl. They flew at 7:05.

At 8:11, Pa to the nest with a large stick that he placed to the front rail. He moved a piece of fluff and then adjusted a stick on the front rail. The female arrived at 8:18 and aerated the bowl, then Pa joined in. Next they moved fluff out of it. Pa to the left branch at 8:21 and flew seconds later. She watched to see where he went. Female to the left branch at 8:23, then flew.

At 9:28, female to the nest and is watchful. Loud vocals from her at 9:29 and Pa arrived to the nest with a fluff delivery. She aerated the bowl and he assisted. Loud machinery can be heard in the distance. They stood awhile. Pa picked at his fluff he brought in, then they continued to stand. At 9:38, Pa to the left branch and flew seconds later. She watched him go, then continued to stand. Pa to the nest at 10:08 and started moving fluff about, then aerated. She got up on the rear rails. At 10:09, she walked down the left rails and flew up to the left branch. Pa continued his work for a bit, then stood. Female flew at 10:12 and Pa watched. At 10:21, Pa to the left branch and flew seconds later.

At 5:08, female to the nest and laid in the bowl and spread fluff around. She cried out, then got out of the bowl and Pa arrived at 5:10 and went to the bowl and stood in it. The female crouched on the nest where she had been standing. (Apparently, she has laid in the bowl twice today which is new for her. It seems as if this is Pa's bowl and she defers to him. At some point I suspect this will not continue when she fully claims this nest.) They aerated and moved fluff. Next they picked at the fluff near the left rail, then they aerated the bowl. She tried to lie in the bowl, but Pa moved in and stood, so she crouched on the floor of the nest near the right rails, then stood up again. Female to the left rails at 5:15 and flew at 5:16. Pa watched her go. He flew at 5:19. Rocky has visited the nest this evening. The nest remains empty as I leave at 11:21 pm.

:1snowmancarrot: Ma did not spend the night. Still no sightings of Ma reported nor from BOG today. At 7:22 this morning, Pa flew in to the bowl from the rear and the female flew in from between the right branches seconds later to the nest. They aerated the bowl together and moved fluff. At 7:26, Pa to the left branch and flew seconds later as the female moved fluff, then she stood. At 7:36, she went to the curve of the rear and left rails and flew seconds later toward the rear for the day.

Pa arrived at 8:47 to the left branch and down to the bowl to aerate a minute later, moved some fluff on the nest floor, then stood. Next to the tangle to pick at, then stood. To the bowl at 9:11 and aerated, then he lowered himself down in it while thrusting his chest forward and kicked out some fluff with his legs before he laid in it. He stood up at 9:12, but remained in the bowl. At 9:17, he saw something out from the left of the nest and took a few glances out the rear and his focus remained on the left and he flew out the left at 9:18.

At 5:55, Pa to the nest with prey, possibly a squirrel. He pulled out some fur, then ate for quite awhile. When finished he stood a bit. Leaving the remainder of the squirrel on the nest, he flew to the rear branch at 6:21, then flew out for the day toward the rear at 6:23. Rocky has made a few visits to the nest this evening and at one point seemed to eat from the remains left by Pa. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:42 am.

Berry College Eagles
The resident female eagle was last seen on the nest on 11/20, and was spotted flying near the nest a few days later. To the best of our knowledge at this time (per photographic comparison by longtime Berry eagle photographers) the male is the same eagle. Campus is currently open to the public for outdoor recreation only through January 10th, with the exception of December 5th.

So many of us, who have watched this site for years, including some of ground observers , still feel the male is a new male. Just too many differences. Beak, head, size etc. Habits also are very different. After watching raptors as a ground observer and from cams, I know full well thAt if one of pair is displaced , some habits can change but too many different things here. It has been indicated that there are at least two other nests in this big area.
So it is conceivable that ma and pa have retreated to another area. They know the area well.
We are all entitled to our opinions and I respect everyone’s but I will not call this male Pa Berry as I truly believe, after watching back at any of my videos and pictures and looking at pictures taken before ‘this takeover, That we have a new pair here.
Because there are no bands, we will never know 100%
So I will watch from afar as this new pair starts a new era. Many happy memories here with Ma and Pa Berry.
I just do not have the time this year to take pictures to share here. Takes a lot of time, and I am too busy homeschooling my grandchildren, during Covid
STay Safe everyone

:1snowmancarrot: Ma did not spend the night on the nest. This will be the last time I write this sentence unless something changes. I wanted to give Ma a couple of weeks to see if she would return. But, she has not been seen on the nest since 2 weeks ago this morning. And this Sunday will mark 2 weeks since she was possibly seen flying over the nest tree while Pa and the female were on the nest. Because of the possible flyover, I had hopes she was still in the area and we may see her again. But as time goes on and there have been no sightings of her on cam nor by ground observers nor by photographers I am beginning to wonder if she was killed by the female in an aerial battle off cam or if she has moved further out in the territory. I realize we may never know, but will keep watching for her.

At 7:14 this morning, Pa arrived to the nest from the rear and to the bowl and stood. At 7:16, he flew out the rear.

At 8:21, the female arrived to the nest landing on the wall of the bowl and aerated. After a bit, she moved onto the floor of the nest and aerated. She was vocal at 8:26, then she moved onto the left rails and looked around. At 8:28, she went to the left branch, then turned to face the nest. She was vocal at intervals. At 9:17, she flew from the left branch out the rear of the nest and then flew toward the left and out of view.

Pa arrived to the bowl at 11:06 and the female to a tree behind the nest with vocals. He moved fluff and aerated. He went to the left branch at 11:08 and flew seconds later. I did not see the female immediately fly out after he left and did not stay to see when she left.

The female arrived to the nest at 4:50 and aerated the floor and the bowl, then stood. She went to the rear rails and stood and looked around at 4:53. She started vocalizing at 4:54 as she sees Pa in the distance coming in toward the nest. He landed and they aerated. Then they stood a bit, she is still on the rails and he is in the bowl. She flew out at 4:59 toward the left for the day. He watched, then got up on the left rails at 5:00 and seconds later flew out toward the left for the day. It has rained off and on most of the day and there was not a lot of activity. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:41 am.

:1snowmancarrot: Pa to the nest at 7:06 this morning with a large, multi-stemmed, stick and did some snip work before finally placing it to the tangle and rear rails, then more snip work. Next to the bowl and he pulled up a stray stick and snipped, then dropped it. He stood a bit, then moved to the front of the nest and stood. Back to the bowl at 7:13 and he picked at the stick he had dropped earlier, then aerated. He pulled up fluff and aerated the floor toward the front of the nest, then back to the tangle area and did more snip work on the stick he brought in earlier. It's caught and he played tug of war with it trying to pull it toward him several times. The female arrived with a fluff delivery at 7:18. She spread a little bit of it and aerated. Pa joined her and they aerated and pulled up on the fluff. Pa made adjustments to the front rails, then back to the tangle area to work. She aerated the bowl, then stood a bit. At 7:24, she hopped up on the front rail and flew seconds later as Pa continued to work. When he realized she had left, he glanced back, then continued his work. He flew from the nest at 7:26, flying out the left and then headed toward the rear.

Female to the nest at 7:37 with a small stick she dropped on the floor, then stood and looked around. At 7:40, she went to the left rails and stood, then flew seconds later.

Could hear eagle vocals at 9:33, then Pa flew in with a headless fish with the female on his tail. She took the fish from him and ate. Pa found the stick she had dropped on the nest floor last visit and placed it toward the left rails, then aerated the bowl. He picked up the large stick from the front rails and eventually placed it to the curve of the left and front rails. At 9:35, she seemed to finish eating and picked for morsels dropped amongst the fluff. Pa moved a stick on the rear rails, then more tangle work. At 9:36, she got up on the curve of the rear and left rails and feaked. She found a couple more scraps on the floor to eat, then more feaking. Pa adjusted the large stick at the curve of the front and left rails and moved it to the left rails. He flew up to the left branch at 9:38 and turned to face her. She moved over to aerate the bowl and Pa hopped down to assist. At 9:39, Pa flew up to the right branch and she backed up and stood on the rear rails. He flew out and she watched. She picked at the floor for more morsels. At 9:47, something away from the nest caught her eye and she turned and watched out the rear and toward the left of the nest. She was vocal at 9:47 and flew seconds later at 9:48 out the left. Pa arrived seconds later with a fluff delivery and the female flew back in to assist in spreading and aeration. Next Pa to the tangle to work and she stood. Then he went back to the bowl and stood. She moved the stick he'd placed to the left rail and he walked over and grabbed one end of it eventually taking it from her and placed it to the left rails again. At 9:57, he started walking toward her with open beak and closes in and hops on and mates with her and then back down to perch on the rails next to her all fluffed out and he actually looks larger than her. At 9:59, he went to the bowl to work. At 10:01, she came off the rails to assist, then back to rails at 10:02 and feaks. Pa to the left branch at 10:03. She was vocal at 10:04 and he flew. He returned at 10:09 with a small stick and finally placed it to the right rails. She flew to the left branch at 10:12 and flew out seconds later. Pa watched her go, then continued to stand. He went to the left branch at 10:19 and flew seconds later.

At 5:43, Pa to the nest with the female on his heels. They aerate the bowl and move fluff. Pa to the left rails and picked at fluff. At 5:48, the female to the curve of the left and rear rails and flew seconds later toward the rear for the day. Then Pa moved more fluff. At 5:50, Pa up on the curve of the rear and left rails and flew seconds later toward the left and down and out toward the rear for the day.

Eagle vocals with responses beginning at 11:24 into 11:25 in the distance. The nest remains empty as I leave at 11:32 pm.

:1snowmancarrot: Pa arrived to the nest at 7:08 this morning and started moving fluff. The female arrived at 7:09 and they aerated the bowl. Fog is rolling in above the nest. They moved fluff about the floor, then more aeration of the bowl. The female lifted a stick on the left rail, then Pa came over and lifted it and they placed it higher on the rails. He lightly beaked her. They aerated the bowl, then stood a bit. She moved a small stick out of the bowl. She stood in the bowl and he on the nest. Pa walked around her as if he was going to make her move, but didn't and she brought the fluff closer to her as she crouches over the bowl. Pa flew at 7:21 toward the rear. The female stood at 7:22 and moved fluff about. She stood a bit and was vocal once. She got up on the curve of the left and rear rails at 7:26 and flew at 7:27 toward the rear, then vocals heard in the distance.

Pa to the nest with a fish at 9:07, started to work on the head and vocals could be heard from female in the distance and Pa starts to back away from the fish and she arrived and took the fish and started eating near the curve of the left and rear rails. Pa started moving fluff and aerated. At 9:10, Pa to the right branch and flew seconds later. She stopped eating to judge where he is going, then right back to eating. At 9:14, she downed the remainder of the fish with tail, then gleaned the floor for any morsels left. She feaked at 9:15 on the rails and stood looking around. She feaked more on the rails at 9:17 and got up on them and stood looking about. She feaked on rails again at 9:20. To the left branch after vocal at 9:21 and feaked, then looked around. More feaking. At 9:22, she turned around and faced the nest area. Vocal at 9:23. Vocal at 9:24, then hopped down on the left rails and picking for more morsels, then stood and looked around. She flew at 9:26 down and toward the rear.

At 2:33, female to the nest landing in the bowl and aerated. She picked through the fluff where she had eaten this morning looking for bits of fish left and eating them. At 2:38, she feaked on the rails. At 2:40, up on the curve of the left and rear rails to feak and stand. Vocal at 3:31, remains on the rails looking around. Vocal at 3:40, then reaching down to the floor for more morsels amongst the fluff. Feaking at 3:41. At 4:12, to the nest and moves fluff, then aerates the bowl and stood a bit. Back to the curve of the rails at 4:15 and flew seconds later.

Pa arrived to the curve of the rear and left rails at 4:24, then down to the nest to move fluff about and aerate the bowl, then stood. Pa to the left branch at 4:57 and flew seconds later.

An eagle flew from the rear in the distance and heard vocals, then Pa arrived to the nest at 5:41. He aerated the bowl and moved fluff. She arrived at 5:44 over the left rails near the left branch and aerated the bowl. Pa joined in. Pa to the left rails at 5:46 and flew out for the day. The female watched. She is crouched in the bowl and brings fluff and some of the possible corn husks, toward her chest, then tosses the husks off to the side. She stood at 5:48 and got up on the nest floor and peered outward from the nest, then flew seconds later for the day. Rocky visited this evening. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:22 am.

:1snowmancarrot: At 7:07 this morning, Pa arrived to the nest and aerated and moved fluff out of the bowl, then the female arrived and assisted with the aeration. At 7:08, the female picked up a stray stick and moved it up onto the front rail. She flew to the left branch at 7:09. And at 7:10, she flew back to the nest. Pa with open beak (no vocals) moved toward the female, then hopped up and mated at 7:11 and off. Within the same minute he went to the right branch. The female moved fluff at 7:12, then stood in the bowl and aerated. Pa flew in the same minute. She stopped to see where he went, then stood and looked around. She went to the left branch at 7:17, and flew at 7:18.

At 7:47, could hear screaming vocals from the female and Pa to the nest with a coot and mantles and female tried to fly in under the left branch, but got caught between the left rails and left branch, but made it eventually and took the coot from Pa and started defeathering. Pa aerated the nest and moved fluff, then he stood. To the curve of the left and rear rails at 7:52 and flew seconds later. She stopped defeathering to see where he went, then continued. By 7:53, she is pulling and eating. Pa in at 8:03 with a fluff delivery and she continues eating. Pa spread the fluff, then stood and watched her eat. At 8:08, Pa to the left rails to adjust. Pa to the left branch at 8:10 and flew seconds later. She stopped eating to see where he went, then resumed. She seems to be done at 8:11 and feaks on the right rails, then stood and looked around. At 8:15, Pa to the nest with a very large, stick. She tried to grab one end of the stick to assist, but Pa took it. She aerated the bowl as he wrestled with the stick. At 8:16, he even stood on it trying to gain control before moving it to the left rail finally. Then to the bowl to assist the female with aeration and moving fluff. He moved some stray sticks to the front rails, more aeration and fluff moving, then he crouched over the bowl quickly and more aeration. The female assisted. Next she went to the tangle to work and Pa to the front rails to work. The female brought a stick from the right rails to to place on the front rail. Pa continued to snip and work on the sticks. Female to right branch at 8:19 and flew a minute later and Pa watched her go. She returned at 8:24 with a small stick. Pa took it and placed it toward the tangle. Then they aerated the bowl. At 8:25, female stood on the rear rails as Pa continued to aerate the bowl. Pa went to the left of the nest and arranged the possible corn husks and she walked to the curve of the rear and left rails at 8:26, then up to the left branch at 8:27 and flew seconds later. Pa watched to see where she went, then stood. At 8:33, he went to the left branch and flew seconds later. (TBC)

:1snowmancarrot: Pa to the nest at 7:13 this morning with the female arriving seconds later. They aerated the bowl, she removed a small stick, then they aerated more. She crouched on the nest floor at 7:15, then up and started to assist Pa in moving a stick from the right rails to the front, but didn't and aerated the bowl instead. They stood a bit. Pa to the left branch at 7:17 and flew seconds later. She watched him go, then stood. She flew from the nest for the day at 7:24 toward the left, then to the rear.

At 8:04, Pa flew over the left branch hitting it, then landed on the nest. He pulled up a possible coot leg from the left rear of the nest and began eating it. He seemed to finish at 8:06, then stood, but was just taking a break and he ate more. He was picking at bits that had fallen to the floor during his meal at 8:12, then eventually to the right rails to adjust. Next to the bowl to aerate and move fluff. At 8:17, to the left rails to adjust, stood a bit, then back to work. Back to the bowl at 8:23 and stood. To the left branch at 8:25 and flew seconds later.

At 8:53, Pa returned to the nest with a stick and placed toward the right rails, then aerated the bowl and stood in it. He flew out the left and toward the rear at 8:58.

Saw an eagle fly by from the rear past the left of the nest and Pa arrived at 5:29 from the front of the nest with a fluff delivery that he spread. He stood in the bowl. At 5:30, he pulled up something to eat from the floor, then repeatedly pulls, tears, eats. He seems to finish eating by 5:38, then stood and looked around. At 5:41, he was up on the curve of the left and rear rails. There was an eagle fly by within the same minute from the rear toward the left and out of sight. The eagle was vocal at 5:42 and Pa having just gone to the bowl reacted by turning and looking. He continued to look at 5:43. At 5:45, the eagle flew back from the left toward the rear and he saw as he was still attentive. I am assuming the eagle is the female from his reactions. He flew for the day at 5:46 toward the left, then rear. Could hear eagle vocals shortly in the distance. Rocky has visited the nest this eve. the nest remains empty as I leave at 01:40 am.

:1snowmancarrot: At 7:16 this morning, Pa arrived from the rear to the rear rails with a bounce off landing to the bowl. The female arrived seconds later to the left branch from the front. At 7:17 she dropped down to the bowl to assist Pa with aeration, then Pa to the tangle to work and she stood. Then both stood for a bit. (TBC) Rocky has visited the nest this evening. The nest remains empty as I leave at 1:05 am.

:1snowmancarrot: Pa arrived to the nest this morning at 7:12, landing on the bowl and aerating for awhile. Then he went to the front of the nest and stood. Female to the nest at 7:18 with a multi-stemmed stick. She dropped it on the left side of the nest and Pa went over to adjust and snip. She aerated the bowl. At 7:21, she moved fluff and Pa went to the bowl and removed a stick. She crouched on the floor of the nest and aerated the bowl at 7:22 while Pa went back to the left rails and adjusted the new stick more. The female went over to assist him, she got ahold of one end of the stick and Pa snipped on her, then continued working. The female went to the right rails at 7:25, then up to the right branch a minute later and flew seconds later. Pa stopped his work to see where she went, then continued his snipping of the stick. At 7:27, Pa sees something, then he went to the front rails and up to the right branch at 7:28 and flew seconds later.

Pa to the nest at 7:41 with a pine bough that has one cone attached and was still deciding on the placement when the female arrived with a multi-stemmed stick at 7:42. Pa spread fluff, then placed his bough on the right side of the nest near the rails. She moved her stick toward the tangle and Pa grabbed it and they played tug of war with it. Then Pa snipped from one end of it as she tried to pull it where she wanted it. She took full control of it at 7:44 and placed it on the tangle and started snipping on it. She tried to place it to the front rails at 7:46, but Pa stood on one end of it and snipped. Then he took control of it and placed on the curve of the rear and left rails. She aerated the bowl and Pa joined in, then they stood a bit. Pa flew out at 7:47 toward the left and she watched, then went to the curve of the rear and left rails and flew out toward the rear.

A sub adult flew behind the nest tree from the right and landed on one of the left rear, branches at 8:28. Then down to the rear rails at 8:29 and looked around. He picked through the fluff at 8:30, then down on the nest to move the possible corn husk and picked at more fluff. Back up on the rear rails and looked around, then picked at more fluff. The SA flew over the left front of the nest at 8:31 and out of sight. (TBC)

:1snowmancarrot: Pa to the nest this morning at 7:24 and aerated the bowl. Then to the tangle to work, but mainly stood. He went to the rear of the nest at 7:30 and flew out to the left, then down and toward the rear. Shortly eagle vocals with responses could be heard in the distance.

Pa returned to the nest at 7:40 with a two-stemmed stick and finally placed it to the rear rails leaving it in an upright position. He aerated the bowl a little, then stood. The female arrived to the nest at 7:51. They aerated the bowl. Pa picked up a stick from the front rail and dropped it in front of her. She picked it up and took toward the tangle. He took it from her and placed on the rails there. Pa to the left rails and adjusts. He moved a stick from the left rails to the right rails. She stood at the front of the nest. Next he went to the rear rails and took the upright stick he had placed and moved it to the left rails. She went to the right rails and adjusted, then up to the right branch at 7:58. Pa removed the stick he had just brought to the left rails to the right rails and placed. At 8:02, to the front rails to work. The female turned around at 8:05 on the right branch and Pa went to the right rails to work. She came back on the nest and they moved fluff on the nest floor and aerated. Female to the right nest and stood. Pa adjusted the left rails, then adjusted the right rails. Pa to the left branch at 8:17 and flew seconds later. The female watched to see where he went. Pa returned to the nest with a stick at 8:22 and although she ducked, the stick caught her on the right side of her face and beak. He finally placed the stick to the front rails. They pick at the fluff and aerated, then stood awhile. Pa to the left branch at 8:28 and flew seconds later as she watched. Pa returned at 8:31 with a stick he placed to the front rails, then they aerated the bowl. Pa to the left rails to work and the female got up on the rear rails. They stood a bit. At 8:38, the female got off the rails and onto the nest. Pa heads toward her with open beak and hops onto her and mates at 8:39. At 8:42, he approached her and she lightly beaked him and was lightly vocal. At 8:44, Pa flew up to a branch on the left that we don't normally see him use and could only see his tail, then he flew off seconds later to the rear as she watched. At 8:47, she got on the rear rails and flew seconds later left, then toward the rear. (TBC) Rainy evening. Rocky visited. The nest remains empty as I leave at 2:25 am.

:1snowmancarrot: Eagle vocals could be heard at 7:09 this morning in the distance. Fog is coming in over the nest. At 7:48, Pa arrived with a stick and he decided on the front rail for placement, then he aerated the bowl. The female arrived at 7:51 with a multi-stemmed stick that Pa grabbed immediately and they pull back and forth, then Pa was able to take it from her and placed it to the rear rails. She snipped on Pa and they had a quick snipping fuss. Afterwards he continued to adjust the stick and she aerated the bowl. (TBC) Rocky visited the nest this evening prior to the rains. The nest remains empty as I leave at 1:15 am.

:1wavingsnowgirl: From BCE FB this afternoon:

Berry College Eagles
11 hrs ·
This morning was a blustery one at the nest!
Later this week, we will be recording a Q&A session with Dr. Renee Carleton, professor of biology. If you have a specific question for Dr. Carleton, please leave it in the comments. We will not be able to answer all questions, but want to ensure we address common concerns about the events of the season thus far. Thank you!

:1wavingsnowgirl: Missed their first visit this morning, but at about 7:14 Pa and the female arrived and he went to the bowl to work and they flew out at about 7:20 per chat.

Pa returned at 8:44 with a fluff delivery and the female arrived a minute later with prey that is most likely the remains of a rabbit. She stood on the rear curve of the rails and ate. He worked on the bowl. At 8:48, Pa to the front rails to adjust. At 8:49, she left the pelt and went to the bowl and Pa joined her to work. They stood a bit at 8:52. She got on the right rails at 8:55 and feaked. At 8:56, she returned to work on the bowl and Pa worked to clear the nest floor of debris. At 8:57, she was vocal and crouched to work on the bowl. Pa adjusted the curve of the left and front rails. She stood at 8:58 and shortly was vocal again.
