Will keep re-reading and thanks for bringing it here. I did make it to the last paragraph where he was speaking specifically of 2nd clutches after the loss of the 1st clutch that produced live eaglets. Here is that paragraph from elfruler:

"The first clutches all were laid early in the breeding season, from early November to early December, and the losses were early enough to allow adequate time for a successful second brood to fledge and undergo training. The wide range of timings between the first egg and the loss of the brood and between the loss and the beginning of the second clutch reveals no trend that could predict the probability of a second brood of eaglets after loss of the first. But it does illustrate the likelihood that only in southern regions is such an occurrence likely. It also showcases the remarkable ability of Bald Eagles to adapt to achieve reproductive success, even if the eagles themselves are not consciously doing so."

A lot of nestorations again this morning with sticks being brought in and placed and at least 1 fluff delivery that must have had something edible within it as both through the morning at one point or another were taking little nibbles from it. Also, several snipping spats at each other that reminded me of Ma when she was here with him. Their bond may finally be starting to become stronger. They were not here this afternoon, but the female showed up at 6:32 this evening to the left branch and Pa to the nest within seconds of her having flown in between the right branches. They aerated the bowl and floor of the nest. Pa moved a stray stick to the front rail and she took it and headed to the rear rails with it, but Pa took it from her and placed it back to the front rails. At 6:35, she went to the rear curve of the rails and flew seconds later to the left and then to the rear and up to a tree in the back. Pa watched, then picked at something on the floor of the nest. At 6:37, she flew down and further to the rear. Pa watched, then at 6:38 he flew to the left then to the rear and upward. The nest and tree remain empty as I leave at 2:35 am.

I have never mastered frying chicken! Sorry this batch did not measure up to your expectations, but I am sure it was still delicious!

Per chat, Pa in at 6:55 this morning and the female in seconds later. She went to the right branch at 7:02 and flew at 7:03 and Pa flew seconds later. Nestorations continued today with fluff being brought in and spread and sticks brought in and placed. Pa made more visits than she and their work continued throughout the day. The nest remains empty as I leave at 1:48 am.

Went in at 6:46 this morning and found Pa on the nest. (Per chat, he arrived at 6:45.) She arrived to the right branch at 6:50 and then down to the nest. They did some nestorations. She crouched near the bowl for a moment. At 6:54, Pa to the right branch and flew seconds later. She watched him go, then at 6:55, she went up onto the front rails and flew seconds later out between the right branches. Pa came in 4 more times each time with a stick and did nestorations and once with prey that he left for her. But she never showed, so he ate it on his visit at 12:51. He didn't show up again till 4:16 and stayed for a few minutes and aerated the bowl before leaving. They each showed up in the 6:44 minute for nestorations. She flew at 6:49 for the night to the left, then toward the rear. She got a little tangled on the left rails as she was trying to climb up on them and fly out and Pa noticed and came over and started work on the left rails and picking at the stick-ups. At 6:51, Pa flew for the night out the left, then to the rear and upward. Rocky was out and about the nest and branches at 8:10. The nest and tree remain empty as I leave at 1:03 am.

Today started with Pa to the nest at 7:05 with a stick. The female's first visit was 7:14. One of the busiest mornings with nestorations that I have seen with multiple visits. Pa brought in several sticks and a headless fish for her to eat and she did. She brought in fluff. But they both worked throughout the morning especially. The last visits of the day were from 6:37 till 6:40 for the female and 6:51 till 6:55 for Pa. The nest remains empty as I leave at 11:01 pm.

The nest might be empty this afternoon, but the eagles have been spotted bringing fish meals to share and working on the structure of the nest over the past few days!

Per chat, Pa arrived at 6:47 this morning and flew at 6:53. He was back with a stick at 7:00 and the female arrived at 7:01. I found Pa on the left branch at 7:05 and the female on the nest. Pa flew, then she went to the left branch and flew at 7:06. They were very busy in the 7 am hour bringing in sticks and a fluff delivery and nestorations. They continued their work throughout the day, although it waned. But, more sticks were brought in and a couple more loads of fluff. Her last visit to the nest was from 4:47-4:54. His last visit was
6:47-6:53 and he called out for her during this visit, but she did not respond. The nest and tree remains empty as I leave at 10:32 pm.

Pa to the nest at 6:51 this morning and aerated the bowl. The female arrived at 6:53 and joined in. They stood a bit, then Pa to the left branch at 6:57 and flew a minute later. The female watched him leave and went to the front rails at 6:59 and flew seconds later. Just a couple more visits to the nest during the day. They were very scarce compared to previous days. Pa did return to the nest tonight at 6:50 and looked around out from the nest, probably for her as she has not been seen since this morning. He went toward the left rails at 6:53 and flew a minute later to the left, then toward the rear. No welcoming vocals were heard in the distance. Rocky spent time on the nest at 9:35. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:53 am.

Pa arrived at 6:52 this morning and flew at 6:58. He returned with a stick to place at 7:07 and she arrived with a fluff delivery at 7:09. He flew at 7:12 and she at 7:13 per chat. They returned at 9:42 and he did a few nestorations before leaving again only to return with a squirrel to her cries. She took it and got up on the left rails to eat. Pa stood for a long while and his respirations were rapid as he recovered from his flight carrying the large squirrel. He flew at 10:17 and she at 10:33. She returned late on this very windy, afternoon and ate some more. After she had left, he came in with a large fluff delivery and aerated the bowl. Pa returned at 6:22 and ate on some of the leftovers. He flew at 6:34 to a tree behind the nest to join her and they mated. Rocky was on the nest for a longer than usual time this evening eating some of the leftovers they left behind. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:50 am.

The female came to the nest at 7:34 this morning looking for food, but found none and left at 7:36 per chat. The nest was empty when I came in at 8:17 and there had been a reset. It remained empty till 2:08 when the female returned and aerated the floor of the nest. Next she stood at the front of the nest for a bit. At 2:31, she got up on the right front, rails and flew.

Today was another extraordinary day of nestorations that started at 6:48 this morning and ended at 6:27 this evening. The number of sticks brought in by the pair reached the double figures. They placed and did adjustments to the rails all throughout the day. A lot of aeration and fluff moving. Multiple spats occurred too. Two flub-ups, she came in a little low and hit the side of the left nest as she came in the 1st time this morning and had to walk up and over the rails right quick to make her entrance and later in the morning she stepped on his wingtip as he flew out, but he was able to overcome it. The nest remains empty as I leave at 12:51 am. BCE did a Q&A yesterday with Dr. Carleton and it was posted today. For me, I was disappointed in two areas, blaming the female for the loss of B14 and she seemed to lean further in the direction that this is possibly not Pa. I know she is not able to watch the cams as she has in previous seasons and perhaps is relying too much on one person as a resource that I wish she wouldn't.
