:eggthumb: Got here just in time before it goes off the DVR to see B15 on the rear left branch. And at 7:21 it's as if you can see him thinking as he looks toward where he wants to go, let's see, how did I do this, a little hesitancy, then he opens his wings out just a little and takes off.

Fluff delivery at 8:00 by Mom, then unexpectedly you see B15 fly from a rear tree and past the left side of the nest with vocals and out of sight and Mom is moving her head to keep track of where he is going. Then he flies in from the rear again and lands on a branch below the nest apparently, all the while vocal and whistle/whining for food. She peeks down at him, I guess he thought she had food. Then suddenly he flies back toward the rear woods and out of sight. It's almost jarring as you forget B15 has some independence now. Mom leans over and down to the left to see where he goes. In a bit she went to the left branch and stayed there occasionally looking around. She flew out at 8:23.

At 8:31 B15 lands on the left rear branch, then over to the nest and eventually picks up the old dried out fish carcass they've all been eating and picking at for a couple days and eats a few bites. He went about the nest and hopped to a couple branches before flying out to the left. He returned at 8:51 to the left branch and down to the nest and is back to picking bits off the carcass. He flew out at 8:57 to the left to carry on with his morning.

B15 continued to fly in and out this morning and you should have seen him trying to get to the nest when Pa brought in the 1st fish of the day! It's hard to remember back, but I think he stayed on the nest the rest of the day at that point as a total of 4 fish and 1 squirrel were brought in and he pretty much ate and rested in between. Mom was in too today and she continues to feed him when he lets her. He remained on the nest to sleep tonight. He's been up 2-3 times tonight to preen and look around, then back to sleep. He is lying on the nest now asleep with his head tucked as I leave @ 3:00 am nest cam time.

:loveheart2: Another great day for B15. While he may fly out at anytime of the day and does, he seems to take more flights in the mornings. He is flying well and sometimes there is a little inconsistency in his landings and usually it is when a food delivery has arrived. When he thinks a parent has arrived with food, many times we see him fly in from the rear with crying vocals, but he has to loop around again before he can land or must land on a lower branch and work his way up. Part of this I think has to do where he is coming from as he hasn't quite worked out where to easily enter the tree in an efficient manner or an efficient flightpath let's say, but that will come. Other times when he is more relaxed, I have seen him pop right in. Mom and Pa were attentive again today. There was an intruder near the tree causing Pa to immediately come in to a branch and alert. B15 was upset, but I think Pa startled him. Pa took off after the intruder and I noticed B15 do some tracking and settle and thankfully stayed put. He is spending the night again and currently is asleep with his head tucked and on the left branch.

:loveheart2: Other than fledge night, this is B15's first night to spend off the nest. He left surprisingly a little after 7:00 pm nest cam 1 time. Fledge night off the nest was probably not by choice. They kept him fed well today with fish and one small mammal. All meals seem to be received and eaten on the nest. And he rested some. There were flights in and flights out today and hoping he will make one in first thing in the morning. There are several new photos from the photographers on the community page that are excellent and it is a joy to see B15 as captured by them in his new world!

:eggthumb: More fish to eat (compliments of you know who) and fly ins and fly outs by B15 today and a little rest. This evening he was back to having less than perfect flight paths in. He is not on the nest again tonight. One of the ground photographers has mentioned he has a favorite perching place away from the nest tree...wonder if that is where he is tonight? Both Pa and Mom still coming in and keeping an eye on things. More photos from the photographers were placed on the community page.

:eggthumb: More fish and a squirrel from Pa today for B15. One of the fish was still flopping on the nest and B15 was a little surprised, but finally held it down to eat. Mom was in today too, but she was not given her usual welcome as Pa decided he was not giving up his fish to her and snapped on her 2 different times when she approached. (Have not seen Pa snap at her since last fall when they were adding to the nest.) I think he was hungry as he ate some, but did give B15 a bite or two. B15 also snapped on her beak harshly several times and mantled when she came in as he seemed to think she might try to get Pa's fish and then B15 was sure not to get any. Lots of flying today and some rest. B15 did fly out for the night. Last night, I thought I could hear a soft 3rd voice when Pa and Mom were calling out to each other, but wasn't completely sure. Will listen to see if there is any 3-way eagle chatter tonight. More photos posted today under community on their FB.

:loveheart2: B15 is away from the nest tree for the overnight. He had plenty of fish to eat and got his flying in and his rest of course. Both of the parents had a heavy presence throughout the day and each separately spent quite a bit of time with him on the nest this afternoon. This evening all were on the nest and Pa and Mom squabbled over fish and Pa won. Earlier today a hawk chased B15 for a short distance while flying high in the sky per a ground photographer, however no action was necessary by the parents who were in the area.

:flirty: B15 is not on the nest tree tonight. He spent plenty of time there today. He had fish and part of the leg of a larger mammal that Pa brought in. Lots of flying. A ground crew member/photographer reported Mom was getting dive-bombed by a hawk while in a tree a couple times or more near dark time. You could hear Mom from time to time and some could hear the hawk. B15 stayed put in whatever tree he was on. Check out the photos posted in community. One in particular shows B15 on 4/7/22 flying with a multi-stemmed stick, however it never made it to the nest that I am aware of. The photographer says she has been doing this for 10 years and has never seen one do this before.

:loveheart2: Another great day for B15. Plenty to eat and a duck was brought in. Some ground crew has reported he does have some problems with his landings at times, but he continues to fly well. A sub adult eagle estimated to be 3 y/o was flying about the nest tree today and Pa ran it off. B15 flew out to spend the night elsewhere this evening. Rocky was on the nest tonight and spent more time than usual. There was also eagle chatter from Mom and Pa awhile back.

:eggthumb: B15 had a little more variety in his diet today. He had a coot and a mammal. Mom took out some trash today. Both parents were in. B15 did his usual flying in and out with some rest periods. He did fly out for the night to spend it elsewhere. Love seeing things around the nest area that you can not see on cam. Terrie Jarrett posted this photo with the eagle info:

:flirty: All were here one time or another throughout the day and all together early this eve to eat. I saw Pa bring in at least 2 whoppers and 1 partial something, so the eating was pretty good again today. B15 has a tendency to want to be fed still at times. And his landings are still a little loud. I thought he was going to spend the night on the nest as he dozed off and on and did not fly out till dusk when he saw a parent fly to the left of the nest and land in a back tree. We could see the parent land from cam 1 and when B15 flew it looked as though he flew further back than the parent and out of out sight.

:5val: Another day is done and B15 chose to sleep elsewhere earlier this evening. We saw both parents today. Mom even brought a fish. B15 rested on the nest for an extended time today and even got some exercise in. All is well! I am sensing a slight slowing of activity from Pa and Mom over last the couple of days. B15 has not ventured too far from the nest area as yet from reports.

:loveheart2: A great video of B15 simply exploring and experiencing his new world that we do not see on cam:

:eggthumb: B15 had petrified squirrel and a small fish delivered to him today. He spent several hours here this afternoon in addition to other visits. He did a quick pop in to the nest right before dark and I was hoping he would stay as it was later than normal, but he left for the night. Mom and Pa were also in today. Still think I'm seeing a slight shift in energy from the parents.

:eggthumb: B15 chose to sleep away from the nest tree tonight, but several trips were made there today to receive his fish meals. Both Mom and Pa were there today too. B15 got his rest in as he usually does. This evening he had lots of fun chewing on the housing of the nest cam from the front middle, branch and we had lots of fun watching and listening to him do it!

:eggthumb: Quiet day at the nest. B15 did not show up as early as usual today. I did not get to see, but read that Pa brought in a very large, fish this afternoon and when Mom came in, he mantled the fish and did not allow her to take it. She left. He ate his fill and left some for B15. B15 did show up eventually and was able to eat. This evening B15 was on the nest and was calling at intervals, but Pa nor Mom came in. He left before dark to spend the night elsewhere.

:5val: Wow, a really quiet day! B15 finally checked in for about 3 minutes this afternoon. Pa in about an hour later which was late afternoon with a large fish that he waited with and then ate some as B15 did not come in. He still had half or so left when done and decided to fly out with it. I guess he didn't want to take a chance on Mom coming in and eating it. More visits later before dark and we did see Mom and B15 together on the nest too. One of the visits with Mom, B15 did glean from the floor of the nest Pa's droppings from his meal. Their last visit she left first and B15 watched her go. A minute later, he went up to the left branch and flew out for the night at 7:55 pm.

:hmmmm Interesting day as it seemed nobody was going to show up till they finally did. The only appearance from Pa was after a SA intruder landed on the tree. Pa flew in to the left rear, branch a couple or so minutes after and alerted, then Pa chased after the intruder to run it out. Then Mom flew in to the left branch about 5 minutes after their departure and remained there a long time before flying out. B15 did not show up till around 7 pm and he gleaned for tidbits left over from any meals from the left rails and floor, then to the right side to eat a nicer sized piece he found, but took it back, he flew about 4 minutes after arrival and then right back to the nest within the same minute, but didn't stay but maybe a couple minutes and flew. Mom arrived later within the same hour with a fluff delivery, then flew out toward the back woods. In a bit, a parent flies past the nest on the left side headed to the back woods with B15 following. Eagle chatter heard from all 3 shortly after, although B15 was a little on the squee-y side.

:eggthumb: Things are still on the slow side here. We did get to see B15 at least a couple times today. One of those times he picked for morsels to eat. No food deliveries to the nest that I am aware of. Also got to see Pa and Mom. One visit Pa had brought in a stick to place and she brought in a pine bough that they played "tug of war" with. B15 continues to spend his nights away from the nest tree.

:penguin: The pendulum swung in the opposite direction with multiple visits throughout the day and all participated. Pa started the ball rolling 1st thing this morning hauling in a whopper! Mom wasn't too far behind and started in with wanting the fish. Then screams could be heard in the distance coming closer and closer and of course it was none other than B15 who was so excited when he got here, he just kept flying a loopity-loop around the nest tree as he was unable to curb his zeal enough initially to slow down and come in! Then, finally he did. B15 took the fish, got a few bites from around the head, but I think he may have wanted to be fed, I'm not sure. So Mom promptly stepped in and ate half of it! B15 went over to assist Pa whether he wanted him to or not with stick placement. B15 actually flew out right after Pa did. Mom stayed on the nest a couple of hours or more. Then she ate the other half of the fish. And that's how their day started. As I said there were multiple visits from all and all returned for the evening nest check alone or with some overlap visits. B15 did do a long rest stint as he used to earlier today and even rested up again by lying on the nest for a bit this evening before flying out to the rear as his parents had each done previous. But, no welcoming vocals could be heard.
