Moxie just finished a feed, but one is insisting they want more- even tugging hard on Moxie’s talons! Now the chick is marching around the nestbox, flapping their wings like crazy….and falling over from the effort….

Banding Day 2022! The kids are sprawled on the nestbox floor- the one I see is panting. The big event is scheduled for 3:30. I noticed yesterday how Moxie and Jamie’s style of defending their babies is very different from how her sister Midnight aka Erin? defends her kids. Midnight plants herself in the nestbox near the kids and wreaks havoc on the banders with her talons and her beak. They have a net to pin her against a wall so they can scoop up the babies. Moxie and Jamie stay in the air and attack from above, swooping the banding crew, and often clunking the banders’ helmets with their balled talons. Great entertainment for US!

I wonder if mom and dad have spotted trouble- one kid seems to be more watchful..Looking up- watching mom or dad I bet……Heads up - “what’s going on?” No humans yet……..One is giving little squawks….the other is just ducking their head…Squawwwwwk! Now they are both pancaked down,looking nervous…No sign of mom or dad, are they holding the humans at bay?

The kids seem to be relaxing… have the humans retreated? (I hope everything is OK…) Oh oh, heads up again…Scream! It’s people!Standing erect , hissing, wings out. Gee one guy doesn’t even have gloves! Babies are out. Humans are doing a little house cleaning…

Adult falcon is visiting the box, tapping their talon for the return of their babies! Hops back out….I kinda wish the people had done more housekeeping. There are a lot of feathers and debris blowing around….I think I saw a glove.. yes- they are cleaning up the worst of the debris- THANKYOU !! Here come the kids :10sum:

Into a corner, now in one corner screaming! Beautiful Black and bluebands. So cute- not really “shell shocked” like some babies get …Matter o fact they’ve calmed down fairly quickly…Mom came to check them, then left I wonder if she will bring prey to console them?

Moxie is with the kids now- she is doing lots of stretching, almost like a ballet…One leg, then the other .One wing then the other. Totally unofficially, the kids have been showing off their bling. At the moment one ?67 K black/blue is sleeping soundly. The other, ?68 K black/ blue? Is up alert, standing with mom,nibbling on Moxie’s feathers. Just wondering to myself if these personality traits will continue…Ha- ?68K decided to take a nap and sibling is up stretching their wings… :loveheart:

FACEBOOK is saying that Nova, 67/K fell off the edge of the nestbox and is missing !!!!
