:flirty: There were a couple of nest exchanges noted per the app cam this morning and I did not try to keep up with them throughout the day. Cams 1 and 2 came back up at 3:45 and Pa was on egg duty. At 3:51, Pa got up and was vocal, Mom arrived to the left branch and Pa flew. 3:52 Mom to the eggs, rolled 1, aerated the bowl and settled. And that would be the last nest exchange for the day. Mom has been over the eggs since, getting up or changing positions some and tending to the eggs at intervals.

:flirty: Mom is currently on egg duty for the overnight. Nest exchanges were done throughout the day, although Pa seemed a little perturbed that Mom did not show up for the final on time. He called out for her before dark and there was no response, so he flew out most likely for a potty break as is his custom to do and returned to their eggs. Finally when she did arrive, Pa was very vocal to her, then flew out.

:flirty: Nest exchanges continue throughout the day. Pa did come in once this afternoon and remained on the left branch as Mom made no offer to get up, so he turned around and flew. I wondered if the impending weather was causing her to remain on the nest, but the last time he came in, she did leave for her break. Mom is currently on egg duty for the overnight. Rocky was out and about the edges of the nest and on the branches earlier this evening and woke Mom, but while she did hear him and looked about, I don't think she saw him and soon was back to sleep.

:loveheart: Pa showed up in the middle of the night during what seemed to be the strongest winds that I have seen here so far during this storm system. I really believe he came in to have an opportunity to avoid the winds by lying on the nest for awhile. He was able to incubate the eggs for about 20 minutes and really hunkered down over them while he was here. What surprised me was Mom flying out after he took over and I watched her from the app cam and once she flew it was a strong flight in the heavy winds. When she was leaving she hopped over Pa on the eggs as she caught air and landed on the other side of between him and the left branch, then she hopped up to the left branch and caught some air again. When she returned, she had to throw her wing out once to keep from being blown over and also the wind caught her tail once. Pa struggled some on the nest making his way to the right branch and he caught air too as his left talons lifted up rather than gripping the branch initially. But just as soon as he flew he took control in the winds and also had a strong flight out. The winds were better during the day and they had their usual nest exchanges throughout. Mom is currently here for the overnight.

:flirty: Another day of nest exchanges, although Pa was somewhat late showing up this morning for the 1st one. Sometimes they are hard to catch if you don't happen to see it live. One can arrive, the other get off the eggs and fly out and the remaining one go to the eggs, roll them, aerate the bowl and settle sometimes in < 1 minute. Mom is currently on egg duty for the overnight and is sleeping with her head tucked.

:loveheart: Incubation with nest exchanges through the day continue, although Pa was late this time at the end of the day in giving her a break. So late, she only took a few minutes as it was getting dark. It was 6:04 pm when Pa flew out for the night. She only got 2 breaks today. Mom is currently on the nest.

:loveheart: Mom on the nest with snow flurries this evening. I think she got Pa back for short changing her on breaks yesterday. When he relieved her this morning, she was gone almost for 4 hours. They both made fluff deliveries this afternoon with their nest exchanges. As she returned after 3 this afternoon from a break, he did not come back before dark as he normally would.

:loveheart: The snow melted quickly here this morning. Pa and Mom continue to share incubation throughout the day. Mom is currently on the nest. Once in awhile Pa does pop in during the night.

:flirty: Mom is on the nest for the overnight. She only received 1 break today from Pa and that was this morning. Have not seen him since.

:flirty: More normally timed nest exchanges resumed today, but for good measure Pa did bring in a fresh squirrel for Mom to eat on his 1st visit and he did give her a break before she started the overnight. Mom is currently on the nest.

:loveheart: Gabby took another of her really long breaks this morning and Pa did relieve her again before dark. She is currently on the nest.

:loveheart: Nest exchanges today as usual, however Mom brought a squirrel back after 1 of her breaks and Pa brought in a headless fish for Mom when he came in to relieve her for 1 of her breaks. When she brought the squirrel in, Pa left right away and you could tell she wanted to eat it, but decided to incubate instead. After about a couple of hours of seeing the squirrel draped over the rails where she left it, she could not hold off any longer and got off the eggs and ate for awhile. Throughout the day she continued to feed off and on. The fish Pa brought her, she ate right away before leaving on break. Mom is currently on the nest and keeps looking toward where the loud booms are coming from, but otherwise does not seemed overly concerned with the NYE fireworks people are setting off. We did see Pa when he flew in to a back tree a little after 6 this evening. He announced his return to the area to Mom and she acknowledged him. If you have never heard the coyotes here, check out 10:36 pm with your sound up. They were very near the nest area. Fog has been rolling in at intervals this evening.

:flirty: Incubation and nest exchanges continue. Mom received 2 breaks today, 1 this morning and 1 this afternoon and both lasting almost 3 hours. No prey brought in, but Mom did deliver fluff on 1 of her returns. Mom is currently on the nest for the overnight.

:flirty: Mom took a long break this morning and this afternoon. Pa did bring in prey for her to eat today. Mom is currently on the nest. Rocky has made a couple visits to the limbs at least this evening and Mom is hearing him. He was actually on the nest after 4 this morning that Mom did not notice till after he was off the nest and maybe stepped on something making a crunching noise...that she heard and reacted to.

:loveheart: Mom received her breaks from Pa again today. Quite a bit of rain there for awhile this afternoon that Mom endured. No food brought in today, but Pa brought in some fluff and spread about the nest floor. Mom is currently incubating for the overnight.

:loveheart: Cam 1 was brought back up this am by Berry and now the app cam is froze. Mom is incubating their eggs right now and I saw Pa land in a tree to the rear a little before dark as he announced his arrival back to the area to Mom, but she didn't return vocals, just watched him land. He gave her 2 breaks today and was a little late coming in this am, but did bring her a coot. He also brought fluff this afternoon for the 2nd break and even returned a 3rd time with more prey that she ate, but he flew out. She brought a log in on 1 of her returns for the nest and placed.

:loveheart: Mom is on for the overnight. Their nest exchanges started earlier in the day and so Pa gave Mom 3 breaks and also brought in food. At least 1 stick and a fluff delivery today. Rocky was in this evening about the nest messing around and woke Mom and when he realized he jumped like a cat to safety and out of view, but Mom hissed at him and tried to wing slap him anyway!

:loveheart: Nest exchanges continued during the day here and Pa actually ended up giving her more breaks than usual. Mom has been on the nest through the night. Last evening Rocky was about and Mom gave a hiss and a wing slap toward the sound of him, but he was already gone. She continued to watch for him for a long time afterwards. I think she has had enough...
