Thanks to Mathew and carly for the update. Crossing fingers that no more fighting occurs here and that Milton just hangs around for next season.

Now I am just laughing at all of this. You are so right sgb...this is like a crazy movie or soap opera. I have a feeling the excitement isn't over yet, but perhaps we can have two successful nests here. Jack is quite a playboy.

My fingers are crossed for both nests, Hopefully Jack can keep up the pace. The females can help once babies are bigger.

Mathew writes in such a compelling and articulate manner, so it is always a pleasure to read his posts. Can't wait to hear the "news." I can just see him with a gerry-rigged pole dangling a camera to get those shots of Mom and babies. THANKS, MATHEW! You're the best!

That's great news, Susan! I'm sure it would make Mathew very happy, too! :thumbegg:

Gorgeous pics (except for the seagull carcus)...ok...calm, calm, calm...hey, maybe they will all band together and take the "it takes a community" approach...Why not? We've seen some strange things this nesting season...

Thanks for posting this update, Carly! Good to hear & see that Milton is looking very well. Wouldn't that be great if they adopted the "it takes a community" attitude! :cloudnine:

he looks very well. Maybe Jack will realize that he bit off a bit more than he can chew. Especially when chicks get bigger.

thanks Carly :thumbegg:

Great news about Milton Carly! Matthew seems thrilled, as he should be. What a handsome guy. Hopefully Jack and Milton can co-exist peacefully.

Great they look healthy

Thanks for the link to the photos and thanks for posting Matthew's report on the banding. The two boys - Pinto and St. Maurice - are really cute!

I had to laugh, though, at the description of Jack nonchalantly returning to the ledge and eating his lunch while mom was patrolling the sky, monitoring the climbers. That Jack sure is a character!

It was my site he returned to catbird!! He left TR Mom all on her own and came back here and our Mom patrolled the skies for him while he ate!! He did the same at our banding, left our Mom here all on her own and went over to TR Mom. I swear he thinks he's some sort of Falcon Sheik and the two females are his harem. No wonder Milton is confused

OMG - That's even worse, totally abandoning TR Mom while she patrolled the skies as the chicks were being banded...and to think that he did the same thing at your site at the banding! That Jack really is a character. If he does fancy himself as some sort of Falcon Sheik, I sure hope he doesn't plan on expanding his harem!
