Thanks, gigi, for the update. It really does sound like a stressful day with one of the juvies missing in action. I hope she will be found - safe and sound - soon.

P.S. It also sounds like you and Hatton were quite the celebrities yesterday. Way to go!

Thanks for that recap, gigi. While we were trying to locate the one juvie that had taken off, there was a watcher on the Circle who witnessed a short fledge of a juvie from the ledge to the 30th floor ledge on the north side (right around the corner). She said the juvie came fluttering off the ledge and a parent was immediately there to make an assist to the safe landing on the north side.

Kinney was on the perch most of the afternoon and KathyQ made periodic flights -- maybe to try and find her kids. We never saw the other two on the ledge the rest of the afternoon, so they either escaped while we were out searching or were sacked out behind a stanchion.

I got to witness a food transfer earlier in the day which was pretty cool.
(Now I must see what has been going on everywhere else on BCAW.)

Just read on the Indy Blog that the evening crew DID finally see two juvies on the 31st floor ledge and the one on the 30th floor north side has gotten down to the 29th floor. Probably much safer there anyway. So, thank goodness 3 of 4 are located. I was pretty bummed to leave with only one in sight. Will search again tomorrow for the 4th. My legs are really killing me, though.

The seasoned Peregrine Patrol is really awesome as they know just where to look and can recognize a falcon from a pigeon from 30 stories away. Today when we located the one on the Market Tower garage, it was my Trusty Guide who spotted it, not me.

Thank you for all the updates - I hope the fourth juvie will turn up safely tomorrow, and that they will all stay safe.

We also saw real flying right before I left for the 3rd time. Juvie flew from stanchion 1 to 4 [or was it the other way around?] Anyway, looked good. I'll be down there tomorrow morning again and hopefully #4 [or would it be #1] will make an appearance. Bonnie thinks that Kinney may be watching over this one since we haven't seen lots of him. Hope she is right! Oh, and my legs are killing me too!!

Thanks Susan & Gigi for watching KathyQ & Kinney's kids & trying to help keep them safe! It must be exhausting, but rewarding!

An update today from Laura James-Reim:

Bird on Windshield

Okay folks, gonna make this a separate post at 12:20 pm. Here's a synopsis of events and I ask all downtowners to be on the lookout for this lost bird. This was the bird that could not be found - the other 3 are still on Market Tower.

Patrol members received a report that a bird was on the windshield of a car in the alley that runs behind the telephone building - it is called Pierson Street. The folks who saw the BANDED bird were taking pictures of it when a woman came out of the building and took off in the car WITH THE BIRD ON THE WINDSHIELD. The individuals taking the picture did not see which way the woman turned on Ohio - east or west - but the bird was still on the windshield.

Patrol members have looked in the immediate area but no luck. No telling how far the bird hung on. The bike peregrine patrol may have to take over.

I know what is running through all your minds now - I have said some things and asked some questions that will probably never be answered. If you feel the need to vent, maybe write it out on a piece of paper or type it out on the computer but please don't submit it to the blog.

Let's still be hopeful. We lost a bird on top of a bus one year (Diane) and she later showed up on a building. True story. These birds are smart and resourceful and courageous. If you see this banded falcon, please contact Richard at 317-697-9922 or myself at 317-403-5503. Thanks everyone.

I won't comment on this except to say that I am hoping for the best for this juvie to be found alive and safe.

Let's just say I'm skeptical about this story and leave it at that.

It was great to discover this morning that the juvie on the 29th ledge made its way back up to the 31st ledge last evening, albeit in a rather clumsy manner. When I left at 2:00 p.m. today we still had the one whose location was unknown and 3 juvies on the 31st floor ledge, so not much action.

Alison, thanks for posting Laura's comments...Surely, that scenerio did not happen..Driving off with a falcon on your windshield? And it didn't attack or get scared off when she got in the car? (or was she already in the car)...geeeeeeeeeeeeeez..

I'm glad the 3 are sticking together...Susan or gigi (maybe I missed this) have the 3 been id'ed?

The experts on the Peregrine Patrol believe that the one we lost track of yesterday was a female based on size. So, that would mean Hatton, Coach and the other female (either Geneva or Maxie) are still on Market Tower. Too far to see leg bands. The one yesterday did not allow us to see her leg bands, little stinker.

Thanks to both of you for being a part of the fantastic fledge team in Indy! I know tomorrow is the third day, and you are probably tired and stressed, but its such a great thing you are doing. Hope you find the fourth!

I am back temporarily from Patrol. Susan is still down there and has been anointed with an official Peregrine Patrol T-Shirt. She has been great - arriving before 6am every morning and a fantastic addition to our Patrol group!

Anyway, back to the news: Falcon 1 is still MIA. We are still trying to locate it, and we believe Falcon 1 to be one of the females. I was a bit skeptical when reading about the sighting on the windshield of a car, but we have received corroborating stories that include details not revealed in the blog.

Besides the blog, the Indy Star has an actual article in the paper about MIA girl with Laura's cell phone number listed. She was a little concerned about the world having her number, but we hope it rings off the hook! Also one of the local news stations, WRTV 6, is going to have some coverage on the 5 o'clock news. We are trying to get other news outlets to give us some coverage too.

Although we have not given up hope in locating Falcon 1, we remain focused on the 3 that are still residing on Market Tower. 2 of the 3 have flown and landed back on the building which has made it sooo easy on us watching them. We have seen food transfers and drop offs this morning in addition to the juvie flights. I find it amazing that the ones who have left have returned to MT. I think Hatton must have told them about leaving and ending up at Animal Control in a room with a bunch of cats!!

Thanks for the update, gigi. I'm glad to see you can keep your sense of humor in spite of everything (e.g., "I find it amazing that the ones who have left have returned to MT. I think Hatton must have told them about leaving and ending up at Animal Control in a room with a bunch of cats!!")

It was awful to hear about the missing fledgling ending up on someone's car windshield...and even worse to hear that the car's owner drove off with the falcon still there! I sure hope the publicity helps in locating the missing one.

Thanks again for all you, SusanE, and the rest of the fledge watch team are doing to help keep the other three safe.

Fingers crossed that this missing young is found soon.

I'm hoping Falcon 1 is found & is OK, also. Glad the others aren't leading you all on a wild goose chase!
