bev, thanks for those pics of the Red Deer nest location. Agreed that these towers make great spots for falcon nests.

I agree, Bev. The Port Colborne nest always seems to have been a contentious one. I'm not even sure whether Treasure is definitely still the resident female there - but I very much hope so.

Burlington

The male chick at this nest, Brant, almost fledged early (and backwards), but luckily was able to scramble back into the nest box.

Good grief, SGB, how to you manage to see these things? I was there looking right after Edmonton and didn't see a thing that indicated a chick.

Total Luck...I was pretty sure there was a pip...and as I was ready to close the cam I saw a foot (I thought)...so I put the recorder on the cam to be sure....and what do you know..the little thing hatched right out...If you could have seen more of the hatch, I would have kept the recording..

I'm glad the third chick has hatched; it's difficult to catch a glimpse of them. I have only seen them once today:

After looking at all the big chicks and juveniles at other nests, it is almost shocking to see how tiny these guys are! :girlluv:

they will be big in no time.
they are usually on par with Edmonton or a bit ahead but with a nest box fight there this year, it probably put them back a bit.

I am so sad to hear this. this group works har dat this site and I had the pleasure of doing a shift at their watch.

they have had many breaches in other years dn I hope this was not the case this year also.
