:eggthumb: Here's proof that sub adult eagles do return to their natal nests! This is Trey a 2019 Fraser Point hatch who has not had a confirmed sighting since she left in 2019. Video by IWS:

Trey 34/A 7/15/21

And if you go to site right now, she seems to be spending the night!!

:eggthumb: Trey is spending the night again, however the cam has moved and right now she can't be seen.

:sorrow: Spirit A-64 found deceased. Mate: Cruz.

Institute for Wildlife Studies Mod • 7 hours ago
Unfortunately, a kayak guide found A-64 (aka Spirit) floating dead in the ocean on the eastern edge of the Fraser Point territory today. He said there was no obvious trauma.

:15heartbeat: Edit to add: Dr. Sharpe noted on 7/22/21 the kayaker did not retrieve Spirit's carcass from the ocean.

:buzzybee: Trey spent the night at the FP nest after a few days absence and took off this morning.

:10sum: Jim the bachelor has returned to FP tonight after a long absence. He looks great. I am quite fond of him. Many are hoping he will hook up with Cruz since Spirit has passed. Even though Cruz was with Spirit at the new FP site, she did spend some nights and/or time with Jim at the old FP nest earlier this season which originally was hers and Spirit's. If I remember correctly, one of the last times she was there, she ran Jim off which was puzzling as she had spent those nights with him.

:5val: Jim the Bachelor and possibly Cruz are spending the night at FP!! They arrived earlier this evening within seconds of each other. A positive ID has not been confirmed on Cruz, but what has been seen so far is consistent with her.

Sounds like I need to start thinking about the 2021-2022 Eagle calendar. :newegg: :hatchegg:

:loveheart2: It was confirmed this morning that the eagle that spent the night on the FP nest was indeed Cruz this morning when she raised her left wing and her number was seen. Jim the Bachelor is spending the night again and can be seen on cam, however Cruz is not seen.

:buzzybee: New link for IWS cams and chat:

Just a note from Dr. Sharpe as many are having problems across different devices. I'm on a laptop and not having any issues for now.

Make sure you reload the page each time you visit because I'm making many changes per day, including the window size (one try last night had the camera windows slightly overlapping the chat window). Mobile apps should have the camera windows above the donation window above the chat

:flirty: Jim the Bachelor is home tonight. I think an immature eagle was hanging out at his place earlier today and I've noticed sometimes when his place has a visitor, even though he has not interacted on cam at least with them, he spends the night. Makes me think he is in the area frequently, even though we don't catch him on cam. And he is claiming his nest.

:flirty: Jim the Bachelor is spending the night at FP. Mid afternoon, Cruz showed up and Jim arrived 3-4 minutes after her. She stayed an hour and 50 minutes before flying off. Shortly after she took off, he left, but he returned later and is spending the night. If Cruz is currently around, she is not showing on cam. It's good to see them, still hoping they will become a pair! Usually who I want to get together don't, but I really think Jim is interested in her and she may be in him ... :5val:
