:15heartbeat: I do not follow FSV nest, but saw this elsewhere and hope I am bringing to the correct place. Do not see any current posts on nest this season.

Working cam link for FSV:

Only 2 of the 3 eggs remain as a chunk of ice fell and damaged 1 of the 3 eggs as Dad flew out yesterday. Video by Keith842:

Dad consumed the damaged egg. Time lapse video by Gayle Teller of Dad consuming egg:

This is so sad...I've briefly checked on "him" several times...hoping to see a pip in the other egg. I wonder what happened? The few times I saw him, he looked really good.

:15heartbeat: There is a pip in the 3rd egg now at FSV. SC by Lisa Levesque:

And SC by Elfruler Elf:

Sky, there is no known reason and I think they are waiting for a response from RRP. This video by elfruler has come up since you were in:

Elfruler Elf shared a link.
1 hr ·
VIEWER ADVISORY. I have created a video of the time between when the eaglet was last seen healthy and cheeping and when it appears immobile in the nest cup. The video reveals no cause of its loss. I have provided captions along the way in the video. The embedded timestamp is mine -- I am confident of its accuracy. Please do not watch if you feel it might be upsetting.

I have copied some of the comments under this video from Elfruler Elf and Al Cerere:

Al Cecere
"As an eagle expert with many years of eagle nest monitoring and eaglet care experience, I believe the parents were adequately careful and caring for this eaglet. Since the entire video is not shown and I do not have access to viewing this nest during the entire time period the parents and eaglet were actually in the nest, I can make no further comment."

Al Cecere
"In the video segments provided, the care given by the parents was more than normal and adequate. But there could have been other unknown reasons for the eaglets death, like contaminated food, etc, etc. The video shows normal and good care by the parents."

Elfruler Elf
"There are so many reasons a day-old eaglet can perish. Tainted food, developmental deficiency, and nutritional deficit are among the most common culprits. I don't believe the eaglet was suffocated. The parents aerate the nest cup to keep the soft grasses from compacting. But, we will never know."

:15heartbeat: I don't think anyone is following this nest any longer. I do not follow. I tried the links offered here and they do not work for me. But apparently they ended up with 2 hatches they refer to as FSV45 and FSV46. The 3rd egg did not hatch. They are dark in color in the most recent screen captures I saw. I do not know when they hatched. Last evening a raccoon attacked FSV45 violently. It was said the eaglet fought for its life. FSV45 is missing from the nest and they are awaiting word from ground crew I think. It seems most likely this eaglet lost its life, but will watch for further info as they have asked. I think the Mom stayed with FSV46 through the remainder of the night after this incident.
