:sorrow: "Yellow" from 2021 who left the area with the plastic tail guard passed a week after being found down in October 2022. Her brother "Red" has been accepted by a female at a nest site in Norfolk, VA. See update for more details on these siblings from 2021. Just checked the cam and did not see our special couple at this time, but so thankful they returned and have been seen daily by VDWR.

Update from VDWR!

Hi everybody, sorry I am MIA, but I am watching now. I have been downtown a lot working on a kestrel project, putting up kestrel boxes. If you are on the Virginia Wildlife Group, you will see some awesome photos from my helpers who are also photographers. Anyway, I haven't seen the falcons and have been directly across the river. There is an eagle nest right in front of their building in the middle of the river, and those eagles are nesting. Its a busy wildlife scene in Richmond! Plus I got a huge female eagle in rehab this week.

Anyway, I will be keeping my eyes open and just renewed my photobucket subscription.

Thanks Bev! I just took a photo of one of the falcons here, but I can't figure out the new photobucket link. I'll work on it, but one is at the house!

Somebody at DWR is actually doing some PR on the falcons! I saw it on the news this morning. However, they had live camera footage, and the light reflection meant you could see nothing. It was pretty hilarious. Still, press, I'll take it!

Relative to size, I'd say this is the male.

:flirty: It was the male and she came in to the ledge shortly and down into the nest box to root around. Eventually he came down to join her and they bowed and talked before he left the box and walked offscreen. She was still in the box when I left. I haven't been posting every time I come in and see one or the other, but it seems I am either having good luck or they are visiting more often than I am used to seeing this soon after the cam is turned on. But, this is the 1st time I have caught them together and such a thrill! Also, I noticed the timestamp is between 19 and 20 minutes fast, so we will need to use our pc time with adjustment to EST or soon to be EDST till they can correct that.

:loveheart: He came back, left my tab up and heard them. Wonder if we will see a mating on the parapet shortly. He sure is hanging out for something. :teehee:

Here's the capture of them before or after bonding. Apparently, there is no way on this cam to back it up! :loveheart2:

There's a thing on here to view "time lapse clips" that I think really will be helpful. Of course, I can't take time to do that now. It shows the activity for the last several days! :10sum:

:loveheart: No DVR, hoping we get it here in the future. It's on my wish list!

This is better than a DVR. It's split up by days. Right next to to the "Live" button.

:loveheart: I forgot about that, but I would also like a DVR. Just heard a commotion and came in to see her ferociously eating on the ledge and he was standing nearby, so assume he brought her a food gift.
