Tamien has fledged
will try and keep updated

I'm not sure I can give the events today total justice for the flights we saw with our little rock star Tamien. I lost count of how many times he flew around always landing somewhere on the City Hall building. Jon B. says it was 11 but there was one more just as we were going to leave but more about that later. I missed the first - a short hop over to the louver. Then to the east side (so I heard) and had just gotten out of my car to witness his venture from the east side over the building, around and to the roof. He spent time on so many different satellite dishes on the roof I lost count. Also up on the perpendicular, below it and in the area between the nest ledge and perpendicular. Whew. I missed one where he left the roof, headed west and was turned around by an adult (I think) to head back to the building again.
Meanwhile - Lupe was casually hanging out behind the box and up on the ledge for short times. She didn't get real active until late afternoon after her brother came back to the nest ledge to share the west low ledge again for awhile. She did a lot of flapping there and I expected her to try next but it was Tamien that ended up going a short jaunt over to the louver again. I think both got food today. Events blur a little. I know that Tamien got prey brought to him when he returned to the nest ledge.
Of course as we were leaving Tamien decided to fly from the louver and headed southwest - over MLK Library and beyond a bit before turning back around. I thought perhaps he would land on MLK because he looked like he was getting tired but flew over it heading back to City Hall. He tried for the ledge but had lost a little bit of height, mothed on the south wall for a couple of seconds before pushing off headed around to the east side of the building where he ended up about 6 floors down. Jon B. checked on him as did I. He was pacing back and forth so I'm not sure if he will still be there in the morning but he was doing such an excellent job today with so many flights and good landings we're pretty confident in his abilities. That was an exceptional flight - very long plus he was fighting a much stronger wind than he had encountered much of the rest of the day. A pretty impressive little dude!

Lupe went to louvre for food yesterday and she and a adult spiralled off. They were able to track herb for a bit but at days end she was not in sight,
This morning she was found and was eating . Will try to put in a few videos and pictures later . Male is doing really well
