About five minutes after I posted the previous message, Red Girl got up and flew off. I would image she knows where Trinity stashes food.

Red Girl continues to visit the nest box almost daily for a lie-down. I would imagine, with a left leg injury, she keeps most of her weight on the right leg. The only way tio rest the right leg is to lie down and get the weight off both legs. She seems to be in less distress every day - hoperfully healing is occuring. She is obviously eating and spends most of the day out and about.

I was able to spend a little time in Wilmington on Sunday morning, September 19. We saw Trinity perched for a good 20 minutes on top of the nest box before he flew. We did not see Red Girl. Sorry it took so long to post, but I was without Internet access.

Red Girl :7val:

Here she's cleaning the left foot.

She's standing on both feet while she continues to preen.

She walked from the back of the ledge to the front and I didn't see any limping at all! She's laying down now. :girlcrazy:

Thanks for the pictures, Nancy. Around 5:00 this afternoon I found Red Girl preening at the edge of the ledge. I don't know how long she was there before I tuned in. I watched her for about 20 minutes before she flew off in the direction of the former Wilmington Trust Building.

She appears to spend a good bit of time there. She's got a full crop!

Red Girl was in the box when I tuned in and then hopped up on the ledge. I did not see any evidence of her limping, but apparently it was pretty obvious about a month ago. To me she looks good.

Not sure how long she's been there, but Red Girl is resting on the ledge in front of the box. And make that WAS resting. Heard a lot of chattering and there was Trinity. Red Girl hopped into the box for a while and then flew off. Trinity is still there.

Happy to say that I saw a video posted on the Wilmington Falcon Facebook page a few days ago, showing Red Girl hopping around in front of the nest box, and looking completely normal.

First time in a while that I've found Red Girl at home. I watched for pretty long, expecting her to fly off, but she's still sitting in front of the nest box, and I suspect she'll spend the night there.
