Any guess's to the sex of these guys? I'd say at least one female. Other two can't say yet. They keep getting fed the way they are we should be able to tell soon. :eggthumb:

:girlyes: You may be right, Heida! Especially after seeing the "Falcon Chatter" video from yesterday. At 1st the 2 older ones were larger d/t age, but now 2 are becoming more similar in size and 1 may be pulling away from them. For the last 2 days, I think I am seeing tiny tailfeathers without much coloring sticking out from 1 of them. Awhile ago, they appeared to be alone at least from what is seen on cam and were scooting about the nest (very mobile) and finally met up and got into 1 big pile and fell asleep. Feathers are all over the floor and I got to see 1 of their crops that was huge! Now I see that Niecey is on the front nest wall facing them.

Check out size when they are all lined up in a row.

Watched for a few minutes today. Saw the chicks standing tall all alone. The male was on the point, evidently he decided to go and visit with them and Niecey was on the shield, at some point and I'm not sure the exact order but alarm calls began, male went to the point again alarm calling, and I could hear Niecey too, Eventually both left , chicks went to sleep, totally unaware of a problem, if there was one.

:loveheart2: Aw, heck! Looks as if I missed the best thing to happen today, ljames! Thanks for bringing this, I have not seen him near the chicks in a long time and glad he's still trying. I really want him to be able to be with the chicks. You don't think Niecey started alarming cause he was near them do ya? :teehee:

Currently, Niecey is atop the front wall and facing the street and the chicks are sleeping in a pile.

:flirty: The chicks are cuddled in their favorite spot and I do not see the parents in cam view. Cloudy and cool today.

:flirty: I see Niecey now. She is on her favorite spot of the front wall facing away from the chicks who continue to sleep in their favorite spot.

:15heartbeat: Not having any luck coming in on a feed today, but I did get to see 85 earlier. Niecey is keeping a watchful eye on the chicks from her favorite spot atop the front wall as they sleep and grow ...

:7val: Mom is sleeping with her head tucked and the chicks covered mostly, can only see a part of one sticking out from under her breast. Was hoping for an update from VDWR today with maybe a video or SC of her feeding the youngest. Maybe they will post later. Imagine Fridays are busy wrapping everything up till Monday.

:15heartbeat: Am hearing Niecey alarming and I thought 85, but I can't find him on cam. Niecey arrived to the front wall. And I am sure I am hearing both of them continue to alarm. He must be nearby, but off cam view. At 7:21, I just noticed it's raining. I can barely hear the chicks, don't know if they are hungry or don't like the rain, but I think they are protected some by structure above.

So nice to see a post from you on here ljames. And nice to see that 85 got bold enough to go into the scrape. It has been raining here most of the afternoon. As far as I know, the last feeding was some time around noon. When Niecey left the scrape shield about 20 minutes ago I hoped she might return with some prey, but that was not the case. It will be dark here in about half an hour.

:15heartbeat: I leave the tab up, so I can hear them and come in. I was gone this afternoon, so do not know if they received a feed or not during that time. I could hear the chicks and came in to see Niecey standing at the doorway, then she hopped back up to the front wall, so guess the chicks were responding to her presence.

:1val: Chicks were awake and moving around when I came in, but are trying to settle down now in a pile to sleep probably. Saw a crop on two of them and the other one was never in a position to see. Niecey is atop the front wall of the nest facing out from the chicks and I thought I heard a soft call from her, then she called out a couple more times. Do not see 85 at this time.

:flirty: Feed in progress and 85 is on the point! Heard kak-kak-kak, went back in just in time to see Niecey stop feeding and tilt her head toward the point and 85 looked down the side street from the point, then flew in that direction. Niecey continued the feed. Two of them were getting the bites and each with a large crop, while the other one didn't seem interested. The two lost interest and the smallest one stepped up and got several bites. Niecey took the last bite and left. Then showed up in her favorite spot and the chicks have piled up to sleep again. I'm hearing calling at intervals again.

I witnessed two feedings this afternoon. It looks like 85 is doing very well providing food for the chicks. Both times their crops were so big that the chicks had a hard time standing up. :teehee:
