I think Mom is in the box right now..

I've got the recorder on the cam right now...but, have to leave for work in a little while..

I did really enjoy this nest. It is getting harder for those of us out of country to watch American cams. Sad

April 30, 2023 SITUATION: ODD
Flash was inside, female arrives with small dressed prey.
Flash leaves. Then female leaves - with prey.
No one inside about 2 minutes - and its COLD.
They must have a stash nearby.
Maybe feeding later today - we'll see.

My only guess - and its only a guess - is - someone looked inside the box Apr 28 and female left so suddenly she scattered the eggs. Flash arrived and pulled the eggs together. I saw him rooting around in the end near cam.

From my description perhaps bev or sky can make a guess

I've been recording for a couple of hours now.

Mom out, Dad in at 2:52, nest time. No prey exchange...at least on cam.

Flash has had nest duty a lot, she seems such a nervous bird

SITUATION: STILL ODD

8.30 am Lady was down in incubation mode.
Suddenly she raised up her head, looked around, nervous ( scared ? ) -
I had to leave my computer a few minutes, when I returned she was gone.
O here's Flash, he just arrived.

Flash has had a banded mate in the past. Hope he doesnt choose this female in 2024.

The female was inside looking VERY nervous.
8.30 am She left and I saw men in blue helmets messing around near her box.

9 She returns to the perch - sits out there watching ... goes inside but still nervous.
She left again almost right away

( I had an appt - was gone )
11.15 am No falcon and 2 men up on roof

This courthouse shouldnt have a falcon box if they're gonna mess up there

4.30 am Prey is delivered to the box - presumably by Flash but too dark to tell.
I am probly safe calling it a hatch. It may have hatched yesterdy but there's just no way to be sure.

I've had the cam up for about an hour...not much action..

Mom is partially sitting up...I'm hoping that means hatch...but, I need to see a feed before I'm convinced.

I'll try and keep my recorder on the next while I get some chores done.

Its a long feed...so, either she's missing beaks..or we have more than 1...

Other than the first few bites (which were gigantic), she doesn't look like she doing too badly.

Edit to add...she left the "leftovers" in the box...now Dad is either finishing them off or trying his hand at a feed. I can't really tell.

Not sure if Dad's trying to feed or just having a snack with what was left in the box. I believe that is Mom in the red circle.
