vidoe of exchange this morning. last part, slow motion so you see bands of female Video link https://youtu.be/kqh1NUc1wYQ also, eggs alone for over an hour is o.k. as it was not below freezing. Probably just a glitch in their timing. He may have been outside waiting for her. 5 hours away, is o.k. usually an experienced couple changes every 4 hours , but sometime scan be longer or shorter NOw I cannot see him flying up to tower . cant have everything |

so my recorder was full so I did not see what time Aero came back . saw when Flash left but somehow missed exchange with Aero to begin with. I think he is not staying till she comes back, I thin k I miss a bit sometimes as sometimes cam skips about 3 seconds. that is a quick exchange what my recorder did show me and I will post later, is there is a door to left of box, as you are looking at box. It is down below white rail. someone had it wide open for a bit and then closed it. so both are there and one in front just flew off . and one is in box. both soaking wet. sorry my tape stopped. will keep up and will put up tomorrow and try and se e what is going on. |

MYSTERY SOLVED April 14, 2022 4.15 am Flash brings prey to Aero She accepts it and flies off I asked bev to record this box on her webcam. She wrote .... there is a door on left of box, as you are looking at box. someone had it wide open for a bit and then closed it. THANKS TO BEV on bcaw THATS what scared her! If they opened that big door inside nest box - cam left - she'da been spooked! Thats how they take the chicks out to band them I am thankful Aero returned after 5 hours. Eggs should be fine. Flash kept them warm enuf and temp wasnt freezing EXTRA NOTE from history - I googled ... Apr 16, 2015 The DNR guy was there to take pictures of the eggs. Would DNR so disrupt nesting birds??? |

Yes she is still spooky but committed to her eggs. She's been laying flat - barely visible. Cam doesnt appear to bother Flash at all. The Racine courthouse needs new cams - inside and out. I wonder if they are even aware they spooked the female. If they need/want pics of eggs - get an inside cam! |

CONCERN May 1, 2022 7 am Flash had been on the eggs and Aero arrived to take over. Flash left. Aero stayed a short while, got up - left. After maybe 5 minutes she returned - I think its her .... I dont know whats up here. Flash has had egg duty a lot. Yesterday he was on the eggs a long time, Aero returned - but left again. Eggs should be nearing time to hatch. |

CONCERN May 2, 2022 Aero DOES NOT like to be in the box. She keeps leaving eggs alone, unsure how long as Im not always here. She had a brood last year. She knows her eggs should be hatching soon. Flash is having a lot of egg time, more than a male usually does. When Aero is inside, she is looking outside nervously. Between that door opening, alarming her, and all the cam adjustments, she is mistrustful. |

Thanks for the observations. Sounds like Aero is still skiddish...but, there are lots of nests where only the male incubates during the day...and female takes the night shift. Who knows. |
