Unfortunately, the current brood cannot continue. We assume that breeding can take place at night.

Thank you for your interest

just visited the site of Feucht... and found some more informations to what loza already posted.

Margarete (the female) collided with a glass pane, had a concussion, but they were able to catch her, and now she is observed by a veterinarian. They hope for a full recovery and for a successful breading next year.

So sad :tissue: but hopefully a good restart for Margarete in the next days and good luck next year!

Thank you so much for the additional information. I knew we had not been seeing the female for a few days. So glad she was found and is getting help. Hopefully she'll make a full recovery!!

HomeMarkt FeuchtNewsNews from the market Feucht
Peregrine falcon lady has concussion
Article from 14.04.2021

At the weekend, peregrine falcon lady Margarete, who is currently hatching four eggs with her partner Georg in the steeple of the Catholic Church Herz-Jesu Feucht, flew into a window. She suffered a concussion in the process. She is therefore in the care of a veterinarian who specializes in birds of prey.

The incubation of the eggs, which are almost ready to hatch, has currently been taken over by the male peregrine falcon. One must hope that Margarete recovers quickly and that Georg holds out a little longer. So far he has only moved away from the clutch a few times. But his calls are obviously for Margarete. Peregrine falcons stay together for life and share brooding and feeding.

As soon as the peregrine falcon is well and able to fly again, she is returned. Sebastian Haas of the Bund Naturschutz, Ortsgruppe Feucht, and the environmental office of the market town of Feucht are jointly providing technical support for the current events on site and are in close coordination with the attending veterinarian and a falconer.

Peregrine Falcon and 4 Eggs
Four eggs were in the nest on Monday morning
The wet peregrine falcons presented four eggs in their nest high in the tower of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church on Monday morning. Everyone who was live via the webcam was absolutely thrilled that Georg and Xenia are working so diligently on becoming parents.
