Peter and I had a wee visit ysterday , while visiting our daughter an saw 2 kids on north ledge.

last night one was roof for a bit and at 10pm, 3 were in box.
longer they are there the better

will post photo as soon as I get on other computer.

Miscercordia july1

peter and I were there around5pm june30(yesterday)
we saw both adults and at least 3 chicks. the big one lying in front could have been 2 ,

we have not had tim e to download camera for awhile, but will try tonight

I am behind and will try and catch up.
It has rained for 2 days here.
Chicks were banded on Monday, July4. We have 2 females . They also fixed the netting to right of box, even though Radisson was in usual attack mode .
Will post bands when I have them.

Bell july5

Have quite a few pictures to post here later.

2 chicks fledged on Saturday july2, , one after 2pm and one after 6 pm.
Peter and I went down on Sunday, july3, and stayed a few hours. We had one in view, high up. We may have seen one more but cannot say 100% . We saw one fly but not sure if adult. Very hard to follow down there. Not a very safe area for us to be walking around. And not safe for our young to fledge and fly.

The other still had fluff but fledged after 8 pm Sunday , July 3. Worried about that one.
We cannot go back down till Thursday, but we believe we have one injured or deceased . Waiting for further confirmation.

This may be our swan song. Very stressed this year.

Chicks will be banded tomorrow july6. There are 4 chicks.

Blue is Radissons son and the Grandson of Princess, from Winnipeg.

more bad news. We lost chick at bell on July4. It hit a glass building, that window washers were on. It is right across from Bell building. whether it was spooked or not, we will never know but they picked it up an d notified authorities . band number E67.
Peter and I will be going down tomorrow. hopefully we still have someone flying. window washers are all over downtown right now.

Peter and I were downtown and are happy to say we saw 2 youngsters and 2 adults.
The kids have made it back to nest building. If cam was up you would catch them on the nest box roof or perch

I am catching up

a lot of these pictures are of Chase . Chase not been at box since cam went off line for 5 days, JUne17. We saw chase in box june16.

I was not posting, as we were monitoring from the ground. We knew kids were hungry and radisson was away long hours.
I knew RAdisson could handle at least one prey a day. and there were 2 youngsters .
Chase had a leg injury and it happened sometime between when cam went down and it came up. Jean had a picture of him flying with leg extended June21.

He could not put pressure on leg and so therefore was not hunting.
but all is well now. He and Radisson knew that with rest, he would recover.

on july 1 he came to box with small prey item , but was a bit unsteady . He fed the kids. So wonderful to see

of course cam went off line again.
after july1 we did not see Chase back at box till July 6

Chase came to box and ate leftovers. He was hungry

the start of things back to normal . chase came in with prey an d fed. Radison is content with him doing this . I think because she is tired as she had to do it alone for 2 weeks.
on july 8 Chase came in and when he was just about finished feeding Radisson gently came in.

so fledge starts on Sunday July 17. I am praying everything goes well, as it has been a very tough year at a ll of our sites thi s year.
the kids are a bi t behind in development as they went many day s with just the bare prey, to make it through each day( sometimes just one feed) .But they are looking better now adn always have full tummies

but we still have 2 youngsters

2 have been fledged since July 2 and one since July3. since I do not know who fledged when, 1 is out at least 11 days talons crossed
