Nest Update from the Blackwater Osprey cam with Eagle news!

10/20/11:
Technical Update We have a slight delay in getting the Osprey Cam back online. We're waiting for the Visitor Center contractors (who caused the water damage) to purchase our new PC, but we hope this will happen soon.
Note that we will not let the PC issue delay the start of the Eagle Cam season-
in November...

Nest Update

11/05/11:
We've ordered our new cam PC, and we hope to have it in about 2 weeks. Our Eagle Cam tree climber will soon be going up the tree to install a new wide-angle camera. Once we have the Eagle Cam working, we'll turn on the Osprey Cam, which we hope will go live with no additional work needed.

December 9, 2011 Update:
We just installed a new wide-angle cam on the Eagle Cam tree and we're working on getting our
PC up and running so we can go live with the image soon.

I bet Mom and Dad Blackwater Eagle have been on the Osprey cam. Dang...

December 21, 2011 Update: Eagle Cam

The new PC is up and running. We're now working on tweaking the software on the new operating system and also working to get rid of some static we're picking up on the image. The image to the right is a test shot. We did see an adult on the nest early Wednesday morning, which is a good sign that the couple is visiting the nest to bring the odd stick or clump of marsh grass to prepare the nest for a new season.

12/28/11...
Blackwater Raptor Cams:

December 28, 2011 Update:
Our new PC is running and the Eagle Cam is also running, but we had to do some moving of our equipment because the flag pole at the Visitor Center was causing interference with the cam's microwave receiver. Our cam technician just moved the wireless equipment, and as of right now we're working on improving the quality of the image we're getting from the cam. The reason this adjustment is needed is because we had to set up our old software on the new PC, which has a new operating system and which works a little differently than the old PC. Thanks again for your patience.
