Hi Jazzel...

Haven't been posting for a while. I am visiting the Manton Bay site and am saddened to read that the male is supected to be shot, leaving the female on her own. The Manton team has been providing her with fish which she has accepted.

She just left for a minute, presumably to stretch her wings and legs! She is back again. If one or more of the eggs hatch, will she be able to take care of them?

A sad situation at Manton :sosad2

She just left for a minute, presumably to stretch her wings and legs! She is back again. I can't imagine her continuously sitting on the eggs for a very long time. I am afraid that (if and when) she decides to take a longer break, the eggs or chicks will be vulnerable to predators :thud

A sad situation at Manton :sosad2 Was it 2010 that this nest had no occupants?

I am DEFINITE about seeing a fish delivery made by another adult osprey.
Could it be the male took some time off; then returned to his parental duties???

Would appreciate it if anyone could confirm my obs. Thanks

Kittenface, if the team took the eggs, why am I seeing the chicks and eggs in the nest? The team must have moved real fast and returned the eggs back to the nest. :think

Hi Kittenface and Jazzel

Maybe I am confused about site B and site N.

Where is site N located? Is there a webcam for that nest? Thanks

Shshen, both, site B 5R's nest and site N 08's nest are located on Manton Bay, in Rutland's Lydon Reserve. Site N doesn't have a cam. Here's the link to the home page, it may help you understand
