Good morning all. Went to check on my swiss owls box and found mommie and daddy there again this am. :beathrt: They have been in the box regularly for a week or so now, so I am hoping spring is coming to the Rhine Valley soon! Maybe we will see some mating and egg laying soon. Even though this is a stutter cam, updating every 7 seconds, you can get the best closeup pics of the owls and owlets because there is a window sill in front of the camera, and the owlets will jump up there and pose for you!

Oh great--another box to watch. It's like giving morphine to an addict...

Any count at the HOP box? Seems like more than 5. regarding the Anaheim box, thanks for the pics. I know there are plenty of places for the owlets to hide, but if we are seeing only 5-6, there was a large loss there. of course we know that this makes it easier for the survival of the brood, but If that was a streaming nest, people would surely be overwrought with sadness.

Hey PaulaP the HOP has eight owlets now.I sure hope the youngest will get enough food this season, since Mom laid seven eggs last season and only five fledged.

Paula - I've been watching Anaheim again tonight. I'm pretty positive there's 5. This is the spot the food comes to so I don't think there's any hiding anywhere. The last I saw eggs there were 2 left.... so that would mean we lost 4 ... ?

Ok ... there were 8 eggs ... I think I still see 2 ... so that would mean 6 owlets. I don't see how any of them could not get enough food - just look at the pile of rodents!!
