Wildlife Center Critter Cam @ The Wildlife Center of Virginia. (Ed Clark and crew!)

You are now watching Great Horned Owl #11-2085.
This owl was admitted to the Wildlife Center on August 21, 2011. The owl was found down in Middlesex County and upon admission, was found to be emaciated. Since August, the owl has been recovering, though does have an unknown mass in its abdomen. The veterinarians will be continuing diagnositcs to determine what is affecting the owl. Otherwise, it continues do to well and has been flying beautifully.

WOW...great...thanks Beth...just checked in and the GHO is in "hiding"...I'll keep checking...

I did watch the chat for a few...and Ed Clark was on answering questions...very interesting..mainly about what happened in OHIO yesterday...but, also something about trying to find acorns for 2 bear cubs...I need to go further back in the chat to see what they were talking about...he needs acorns? Man, you should see the number I've been picking up from my back yard...geeeeeeeeeeeez..

Hee, hee...
Since it was raining cats and dogs this am I watched the chat with Ed!

He only wants acorns in a 50 mile radius...
They have "host" critters on them when they come from other areas.
He has put someone else in charge of "delivery"...

FYI-You can also put them in the freezer to kill all the bad bugs.

I think little guy is missing a tuft :(
MVK answered on the chatblog: Yes - once it goes through a full head molt in the summer - the tuft should return.
