feb 28I have not had time to update, but what a wonderful nest to view this year. no eaglets but so fascinating, watching Beau become who he has matured it be. I just hope he can hang onto site and be the man next season and Gabby the female
some thought badly of him. this is nature. Dr. Sharpe chimed in and said some take longer to catch on , like male at west end . he took several years to mature and is one of the biggest now.
Gabby was patient and Beau was steady Eddy. He even started to incubate, even though egg was never going to hatch. Gabby took her days off and Beau incubated at times while she was gone ( not so during crucible periods). you could see him maturing before your eyes. He loved ot incubate. even learned the old stick on back to get her to get up LOL
He had to spend a lot of time protecting nest as there were intruders, but he succeeded,
the bond kept growing.
he brought in fish and ate and Gabby brought in fish and ate an d when away , she always came back with huge crops.
Yesterday FEb27, was a another milestone. Beau brought in a huge fish and did not eat it or take it away, he eventually left and left it for Gabby. she came in much later in day , and polished the whole thing off. His first gift to her.
during storms when Gabby was incubating , Beau came and lay in nest with her. He stayed at site when storming , on branch..
lately they have both have spent a lot of time at nest site and it is delightful
.feb28now they have been bringing sticks in and moss. I did a video of Gabby and the big stick today priceless.
There was a bonding today on nest.
always look to the possibilities. feb 15feb18 GAbbyfeb27fish for GAbby
