SWINWK, thank you for documenting and sharing links for videos and images of all the NEFL suitors.
:flirty:
I hope you don't mind that I am using one of the links showing the differences of all the hopefuls!

:15heartbeat: The cams are down. I know that 2 eagles were seen here today, but the last I knew they had not made a positive ID, although 1 may have been Gabby and the other V9.

We are aware that streaming is down on our webpage, HDonTap and YouTube. Techs have been contacted. The YouTube streaming issues are separate and have been spotty most of the afternoon.

:loveheart: Both were in this morning and he was here before dark. Nobody home tonight. They said Gabby was at the LY.

THURSDAY TUCK-IN: Well, we have an empty nest it looks like. V9 paid a short visit about dusk. Gabby is roosting in the LY and perhaps V9 joined her. Hoping they will show up in the morning. SED everyone!

:loveheart: I can see someone on cams 1 and 2 right now, but have no idea who from these angles, so am assuming it is V9 still as Gretchen had ID'd earlier. I believe both Gabby and V9 were here this morning and apparently V2 showed back up later today. I have to admit that I had hoped she would choose V2, but have not seen him in quite awhile and of course like V9 also. They have a tribute video for Samson and there is a link at the bottom of Gretchen's message tonight:

gretchen_AEF
FRIDAY TUCK-IN: V9 tends to be quite the persistent eagle and has many traits that Samson has. He's still perched and best seen on Cam 2 roosting at the nest tonight. We honored Samson today as it was his 9th hatch day (hatched Dec 23, 2013) at this nest. Many of us viewed him since he was in the egg, hatching, as a nestling, fledgling and onto a beautiful mature eagle that raised 5 young with his faithful mate, Gabby. What joy we shared viewing this special eagle. If you haven't seen the beautiful Tribute our cam op, jd_AEF, created, grab a tissue and enjoy this special eagle we so appreciated and loved. SED everyone! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obU_ESXIGEQ

this nest needed Samson after romeo and Juliet lost the site.
now this year without dominant male presence, it remind of Eagle country in 2020/2021. so many males and a few deaths and lots of injuries. Abby persevered though, and in 2021/2022. blaze came back from the 2020/2021 season. We knew it was him by his markings. I watched this site closely last few years and we could Id by markings , all the males.

Hope Gabrielle gets a mate this year before egg laying.

Last year the first egg was laid December 17. I believe that there has been mating but I cannot remember which V it was. I would love for the drama to be over and Gabby choose one and the other Vs accept defeat. If only it were that simple :15heartbeat:

:hmmmm Gigi at this point I think all we can do is cross our fingers...meet V11 who is currently on the tree...alone...

:loveheart: V9 spent the whole night last night and Gabby joined him this morning on the nest. I guess when she came in they noticed what they are calling a puncture wound even though it is not actually seen for the feathers:

It appears as if Gabby might have a small puncture above her beak towards left side. It does not appear serious, but we will be keeping an eye on it. She seems fine otherwise.

:loveheart: Soon the plot thickens:

Good morning everyone! Gabby is perched on cam 2. V9 has been busy bring sticks to the nest this morning. Maybe he will bring Gabby a fish soon. Both are in the nest. Gabby is showing she is the boss. V9 flew at 8:43. Another eagle who we have decided was not V9 visited the nest from 10:23 until 10:43. Gabby flew at 11:02.(edited)

We have had a new visitor this morning. It has now visited three times. Different tail markings, an evident dark patch at neck back line, different gapes. We will call this one V11 since it has visited multiple times today. One visit was with Gabby at nest where she seemed to want it to keep a distance(edited)

Good Christmas eve dear Hamlet family! Thank you for being here today. During my shift, we have had what appears to be the same "new" visitor we are calling V11 to make multiple visits. Next up will be jd_AEF to take over the cams. Have a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas day tomorrow. Please remember the reason for the season. Take care and be safe.

Gabby and V11 flew into the tree together at 3:43. V11 to the nest and Gabby to Wallenda. V11 flew off at 3:45 and Gabby has been perched ever since enjoying the sun and some alone time in her tree.

V11 returns at 4:48 in the nest. Flies off again at 5:00 and Gabby changes perches. Gabby to the nest and V11 flies in at 5:12, do a few nestorations and V11 flies off at 5:33. Gabby to Wallendas and V11 back at 5:42 and up to the Cam branch at 5:46. Both currently perched. Will they spend the night? jd_AEF up now and will keep tabs on these 2! Everyone have a safe and wonderful Christmas! Stay safe!(edited)

Edit to add on 12/25/22: Mod did a retraction on ID of which eagle spent the night on the nest tree...it was Gabby, not V11.

:loveheart: Nobody home now. Last night I knew there was a possible discrepancy in ID of who was spending the night on the nest tree, but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. This morning there was a retraction and it was Gabby who spent the night on the nest tree, not V11. V11 was there yesterday at times though.

Looks like I was wrong last night...Gabby was perched on Sunset Branch all night...she looked so small perched up there! A visitor arrived in the nest at 6:45 am...Gabby hopped down to the nest with vocals...she shooed him out of her nest. He flew to LOP and Gabby went back up to Sunset Branch.(edited)

:loveheart: It's all very confusing at times, but going to go with Gabby spent the night here last night and V11 did show up this morning. Going to move on to the evening now, where it continues to be confusing. There is an eagle spending the night on the tree with Gabby, but I can not tell who it is. A new one or one that has been here previous? Keeping it's head feathers fluffed out maybe d/t the colder temps. I did watch on cam tonight while both Gabby and this eagle were there, when a bird flew over them causing both to react and alert. What I saw was a dark shadow-like figure fly above them and only seen in partial view at the very top of the screen. Then in a few seconds, you could catch a glimpse of a small white blotch flying back the other way. Eagle? The visitor shortly flew off his branch and went downward to another branch or the nest possibly and soon he returned to the branch. I did not try to f/u this action by going to another cam. Also, I remember Gabby alerting and possibly him about a minute or so before this incident, so I believe something could be seen by them in the area. There have also been alerts at times since. Will show what the mods have said and a capture of the eagle spending the night:

:loveheart: Well maybe the whole evening wasn't peaceful:

gretchen_AEF
SUNDAY TUCK-IN: I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas weekend, and you weren't significantly affected by the wicked weather that swept thru the country over the past few days. It's been extremely cold by Florida standards in the Hamlet lately, but likely good weather for our eagles (and no bugs!). More visitors have graced the nest lately. So far 11 different visiting eagles have been identified by our keen NEFL team. Tonight Gabby is perched along with another visitor that could be V12. It's not possible to identify with the IR unless the eagle was an obvious returnee. Could this eagle be a Christmas present for Gabby? It's anybody's guess. It has been a peaceful night, and they are both tucked in view on cams 1&2. SED everyone!

:loveheart: Gabby and the Visitor (V12?) remain perched as I leave at 11:27 pm.

:loveheart: The Visitor (V12?) remained through the night either on a branch or in the nest. Gabby also remained through the night. Then here are some mod reports starting early this morning:

jd_AEF
Gabby to the nest at 6:47 am...Gabby back to Wallenda and visitor to LOP at 6:50 am...he flew off at 6:57 am as another eagle was seen on cam 3(edited)

jd_AEF
Visitor who appeared to be V9 arrived in the nest briefly at 7:21 am and then off again. Gabby flew at 7:36 am...V9 back again at LOP at 7:45 am...flew off again at 7:50 am.(edited)

Pwhite_AEF
Cyn_AEF had a busy shift with multiple eagles in and out and two with a small altercation around 10:39. ID is getting difficult at this point with many eagles sharing same ID marks (two have dark in back of head one more prominent than the other, rough looking feet). We will continue to compare snips to try to determine which eagles have visited if possible(edited)

aka_AEF
Good afternoon Hamlet family! We had a visitor at the nest at 1:10 who flew at 1:29. Another visitor with a nice little fish 1:55 and Gabby arrived at 2:30 landing on Wallenda Branch. Both flew at 2:58. Next up is Pwhite_AEF. Have a great rest of your day Hamlet family, and stay safe!(edited)

Good afternoon! In the grand scheme of the Eagle world, these are all visitors, some may be returning visitors; and it gets confusing trying to determine exactly which one they are. What is important is that until Gabby chooses one to bond with, mate with, and become a couple with, they are ALL just "visitors" to the nest! The eagle that returned to Wallenda at 3:15 does seem to be a returning visitor that we have seen before today (but not V11 or V9) and we have noted puncture wounds on the right foot. This is the visitor that flew with Gabby at 2:57 pm(edited)

Comparisons for todays eagle versus V11. Todays eagle also has a healing gash at the top of its left foot that V11 did not have. V11 lore was different. Both have black in back of head but V11 is much more prominent. V11's behavior is much different as well, constantly moving. Comparison with earlier pics, this could potentially be V3 that returned (and V3 was the only eagle that brought fish to the nest).(edited)

MONDAY TUCK-IN: Gabby is fully tucked still on Cam 2 solo tonight....at least for now. She still commands her nest and makes it known to the visitors as well. We will wait and see if she bonds with another eagle this season and lays eggs. It's not too late. Or perhaps she will wait until next season. It's all in her time. It's just a treat to see her at the nest and roosting there too. SED, dear Gabby, and SED to everyone!

:loveheart: While I was working on the above I heard Gabby alerting and was quite surprised to hear a response, so I went to the live cam and could see Gabby on the same branch she has been on and the cam op was searching the tree and came upon a Visitor who while the image is blurred looked to possibly be the Visitor who spent the night last night (V12?), but not sure they are confirming a 12th. Myself, I wondered if he was already on the tree and had slipped in earlier or was on a tree very nearby from the vocals I heard. The cam op thinks he flew in just now:

A visitor responded to Gabby's vocals at 12:04 am and flew in with his own vocals...he can be seen on cam two.

:loveheart: So is V12 actually V3? When I went back to when V3 was here, I had not posted the captures and had said I would post them later and never did. I found a video of Gabby and V3 and some captures in my bookmarks, but will have to sort out later and post back to when V3 1st appeared here...Yikes!

Gabby is having a hard time deciding who will father her offspring, making sure she reviews all the prospective candidates. I appreciate all who are documenting her sweet dilemma. :15heartbeat:

:flirty: I'm wondering if Gabby has made her choice...V12/V3. I am thinking when V3 showed back up this time the mod or cam op thought he was a new eagle and assigned him as V12 which is no longer being used. They are going with V3 for this eagle that has spent the last 3 nights with her. V3 was originally here on 12/15/22. He is spending the night tonight and currently is on cam 2 and Gabby is on cam 1. I am not aware of any other visitors being here today other than V3. Here's the Tuck from earlier this evening:

gretchen_AEF
TUESDAY TUCK-IN: It appears we have another repeat. I believe this is the third night in a row V3 has roosted at the nest with Gabby. V3 even delivered a squirrel today. Unfortunately Gabby wasn't there, so he feasted. They are both tucked now. Gabby is on Cam 1 and V3 on Cam 2. SED to our sleeping eagles and SED to YOU too! Remember chat in the morning at 9am, folks!

:xmastree: Still thinking Gabby has made her choice and it is V3. No sightings of other visitors recently. Both are spending the night, Gabby on cam 1 and V3 on 2.

There have been a few folks questioning whether this is actually V3 who has returned because they say feather markings aren't identical. As explained in last night's chat, feather markings can look different based on angles, whether feathers are fanned out or not, whether eagle is puffed up or sporting the sleek look. One thing that doesn't change - at least until it heals - is an injury. V3 showed up on December 10th with a fresh gash at the top of his left foot (pic on upper left). Going clockwise, the next 3 pics are from Dec 26, Dec 27 and Dec 26 showing the gash, now healing in the exact same area of upper left foot. It appears V3 incurred a few talon punctures as well during his absence from the nest. These also appear to be healing nicely.(edited)

Another day of some nest work after coming down to the nest from their respective branches they had spent the night on and it's the reverse in the evening when they do a little nest work before going to their branches for the night. Not seeing sticks and mosses being brought in throughout the day here for nestorations. He's here at fairly frequent intervals throughout the day, but she is not. He does bring food gifts, but Gabby is not home. Today it was a squirrel. I still believe Gabby has made her selection. This evening before dark when both were here and he flew it wasn't long before Gabby became quite vocal calling as only Gabby can do...

Edit to add at 3:20 am 12/30/22: They have switched the cams since my previous post and Gabby is now on cam 1 and V3 on 2.

THURSDAY TUCK-IN: Here we have V3 roosting and fully tucked again on LOP (cam 2) and Gabby fully tucked on the Wallenda (cam 1). Another peaceful day and peaceful night. No other visitors at the nest in several days. V3 appears to be taking up residency. Time will tell as Gabby seems to be in no hurry to gain a mate. So good to see she's not alone.

:loveheart: Pretty much another day of the same. V3 did bring a fish to the nest this afternoon and ate it. Both were here late afternoon/early evening, but Gabby flew out. V3 seemed to be staying the night on the LOP, but he too has flown out within the last hour.
